OREDA Project Engineer & Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 — 25 Posts

The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA Limited), a State PSU under the Department of Energy, Government of Odisha, has released Advertisement No. 1357 and 1356 dated 31 March 2026 for the engagement of Project Engineers and Project Assistants on tenure basis. OREDA has over 40 years of experience in the renewable energy sector and is certified with ISO 9001:2015. These positions are for field-level work at various districts across Odisha, supporting solar energy projects, solar pumps, streetlights, E-Mobility, and other renewable energy initiatives.

Who Can Apply?

Project Engineer (9 Posts)

• Essential: B.E / B.Tech degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a UGC/AICTE recognized university/institute with at least 60% marks in aggregate
• Preference: Candidates with post-qualification experience in the renewable energy sector, valid GATE scores (within past 3 years), or an M.Tech degree will be given preference

Project Assistant (16 Posts)

• Essential: ITI in Electrician or Fitter Trade recognized by NCVT/SCVT with at least 60% marks in aggregate
• Also eligible: Candidates with a Diploma in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) can also apply
• Preference: Candidates with post-qualification experience in the renewable energy sector or a Diploma in Engineering will be given preference

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 35 years
• Age calculated as on: 31 March 2026
• No age relaxation is provided for any category

Salary

• Project Engineer: Rs. 45,000 per month (fixed consolidated)
• Project Assistant: Rs. 25,000 per month (fixed consolidated)
• Provident Fund: Employer's contribution towards PF, if applicable, will be borne by the company
• Engagement period: 2 years initially, extendable based on performance
• No other allowances or benefits beyond what is mentioned in the advertisement

Selection Process

For Project Engineer

1. Merit-Based Shortlisting: Based on marks secured in B.E/B.Tech degree (minimum 60% required)
2. Document Verification: Original certificates and documents will be verified
3. Personal Interaction/Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview

Weightage: Degree marks carry 80% weightage and Personal Interview carries 20% weightage. The final merit list is based on combined marks.

For Project Assistant

1. Merit-Based Shortlisting: Based on marks secured in ITI (minimum 60% required)
2. Document Verification: Original certificates and documents will be verified
3. Personal Interaction/Interview or Practical Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview or practical test

Weightage: ITI marks carry 70% weightage and Personal Interview/Practical Test carries 30% weightage.

• Handle on-site execution, supervision, and monitoring of renewable energy projects at the district level
• Ensure quality control of work at site as per specifications and standard procedures
• Monitor and review progress of timely execution of tasks as per schedule
• Carry out documentation such as MIS reports, Joint Commissioning Certificates, and other required records
• Ensure timely maintenance of renewable energy assets and equipment
• Work with implementing vendors, beneficiary departments, and government officials as required
• Assist in planning new renewable energy projects at various sites across Odisha
• Perform any other work related to Renewable Energy Projects assigned by OREDA
