The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is hiring 11 Junior Engineers — 7 in Civil and 4 in Electrical discipline — across its regional offices. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a notification for 11 Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical) posts under Panel Year 2026. These posts are spread across RBI's five recruitment zones — East, West, North, South, and Central. Selection will be through a country-wide online competitive exam followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) in the local language of the zone. The exam is tentatively scheduled for June 6, 2026.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Diploma in Engineering: Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering from a recognised university/institution with at least 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
• Degree in Engineering: BE/B.Tech in Civil or Electrical Engineering from a recognised university/institution with at least 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).

Note: You must apply for the post matching your engineering discipline — Civil Engineering candidates apply for JE (Civil) and Electrical Engineering candidates apply for JE (Electrical).

Age Limit

• You should be between 20 and 30 years old as on 01 April 2026.
• SC/ST: Age relaxation of 5 years (up to 35 years)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Age relaxation of 3 years (up to 33 years)
• PwBD (General/EWS): Age relaxation of 10 years (up to 40 years)
• PwBD (OBC): Age relaxation of 13 years (up to 43 years)
• PwBD (SC/ST): Age relaxation of 15 years (up to 45 years)
• Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as per Government of India rules

Salary

• Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 33,900 per month
• Pay Scale: Rs. 20,700 – 1,200 (3) – 24,300 – 1,440 (4) – 30,060 – 1,920 (6) – 41,580 – 2,080 (2) – 45,740 – 2,370 (3) – 52,850 – 2,850 – 55,700
• Total Monthly Salary: Approximately Rs. 71,032 per month including all allowances
• You will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, Medical Insurance, and other benefits as per RBI rules

Selection Process

Selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Online Written Examination: Objective type online exam with 180 MCQ questions for 300 marks. The exam will be conducted in English and Hindi (bilingual), except for the English Language section. Negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer applies.
2. Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Candidates shortlisted after the written exam will appear for an LPT in the Official/Local Language of the zone they applied for. This is qualifying in nature.
