RITES Ltd (Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited) is a premier multi-disciplinary consultancy organization working in the fields of transport, infrastructure, and related technologies. Through advertisement number CL/08-R2/25, RITES has invited online applications for 5 Resident Engineer positions to be posted at various project sites. The contract is initially for one year, extendable based on project requirements and performance.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma holders: Full-time Diploma in Mechanical / Civil / Instrumentation / Electrical branch of Engineering
• Degree holders: Full-time Degree in the same engineering branches listed above is also accepted

Minimum Marks Required

• Diploma (General/EWS): Minimum 50% marks. Reserved category candidates applying against unreserved posts also need 50%
• Diploma (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD against reserved posts): Minimum 45% marks
• Degree (General/EWS): First class / minimum 60% marks
• Degree (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD against reserved posts): Minimum 50% marks

Experience

• You need a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification work experience in Construction / Fabrication projects or equivalent
• Experience is calculated as on 27 April 2026
• Training periods (except on-the-job training), internships, teaching, academic fellowships, and PhD research are NOT counted as experience
• Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 in the relevant discipline is counted as post-qualification experience

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years (as on 27 April 2026)
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 45 years)
• OBC (NCL): 3 years relaxation (up to 43 years)
• PwBD: 10 years relaxation (up to 50 years), in addition to category-wise relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates
• Relaxation for EWS/Ex-Servicemen/J&K Domicile as per government rules

Salary

• Monthly Basic Pay: Rs. 17,853
• Monthly Gross Pay: Rs. 32,492
• Yearly CTC: Rs. 3,89,906
• Actual pay may vary depending on the place of posting and terms of appointment
• This is a lump-sum contract engagement — no train/bus fare, TA, or DA is payable

Selection Process

1. Written Test: There will be 125 objective-type (MCQ) questions, each carrying 1 mark, for a total of 125 marks. The exam duration is 2.5 hours (150 minutes). There is no negative marking. PwBD candidates get a compensatory time of 50 minutes. You need a minimum of 50% marks (UR/EWS) or 45% marks (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD against reserved posts) to qualify. The written test carries 100% weightage in the final selection.
2. Document Scrutiny: Based on written test results, RITES will verify the documents uploaded during online application. Only information provided in the online form will be considered — no additional documents can be submitted later.

The written test will be held at Kolkata and Gurgaon centres. You can choose your preferred city during the online application. The exam can be taken in Hindi or English.
