Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU), a NAAC-accredited university with B++ grade in Maharashtra, has invited applications for 13 teaching faculty positions in its Post Graduate Teaching Departments. The recruitment covers 3 Associate Professor and 10 Assistant Professor vacancies across 12 different subjects. Selection will be through interview -- there is no written exam for these posts. This is a re-advertisement of posts from the earlier October 2024 notification, so candidates who applied previously can apply afresh without paying the application fee again.

Reservation (Assistant Professor): VJA - 1, NTD - 1, OBC - 4, SEBC - 1, EWS - 3. Three posts reserved for Women's Category (one for OBC Women), one for Sports Quota, and one for Divyang (horizontal reservation).

Who Can Apply?

For Associate Professor (Rs. 1,31,400 - Rs. 2,17,100, Academic Level 13A)

• Qualification: You need a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned or allied discipline (mandatory).
• Master's Degree: At least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) at the Master's level.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of teaching and/or research experience at the level of Assistant Professor.
• Publications: At least 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals with a total research score of 75 as per UGC norms.

For Assistant Professor - General Subjects (Rs. 57,700 - Rs. 1,82,400, Academic Level 10)

• Qualification: Master's Degree with 55% marks in the concerned subject from a recognised university.
• NET/SET: You must have cleared UGC NET, CSIR NET, or SET. Candidates with Ph.D. as per UGC 2009/2016 regulations are exempted from NET/SET.

For Assistant Professor - Business Administration & Management

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline + Master's in MBA/PGDM/CA/ICWA/M.Com with First Class.
• Experience: 2 years of professional experience after Master's Degree.

For Assistant Professor - Chemical Technology (Pulp & Paper)

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/B.S. and M.E./M.Tech/M.S. or Integrated M.Tech in the relevant branch with First Class in at least one degree.

A relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) is available for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwBD candidates. Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's Degree before 19 September 1991 also get this relaxation.

Age Limit

• Age and qualifications will be considered as on the closing date (07 April 2026).
• Age of retirement and other conditions are as prescribed by the Maharashtra State Government from time to time.
• Reserved category candidates from outside Maharashtra will be treated as Open Category candidates.

Salary

• Associate Professor: Pay Matrix Rs. 1,31,400 - Rs. 2,17,100 per month (Academic Level 13A)
• Assistant Professor: Pay Matrix Rs. 57,700 - Rs. 1,82,400 per month (Academic Level 10)
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Maharashtra Government rules.
• Pay and allowances will be released after approval from the Joint Director/Director, Higher Education.

Application Fee

• General / Open Category: Rs. 2,000 (non-refundable)
• Backward Class (BC) Candidates: Rs. 1,000 (non-refundable)
• Payment Mode: Online only (through payment gateway)
• Candidates who applied in response to earlier Advertisement No. SGBAU/1/103/2-606/2024 dated 09/10/2024 need not pay the fee again -- just apply afresh.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is through interview only. There is no written examination for these posts.

1. Shortlisting: Based on eligibility criteria and academic qualifications.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. For Associate Professor, API score verified by the university is mandatory.
3. Document Verification: Original documents must be produced at the time of interview.

For Associate Professor candidates: You must submit 4 sets of your bio-data along with reprints of minimum 7 major publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals. API certificate verified by the respective university is mandatory.

2. Register and fill in the online application form.
3. Upload required documents and photograph.
4. Pay the application fee online through the payment gateway.
5. Submit the online application and take a printout.
6. Send the printed application along with ATR form, testimonials, certificates, degrees, diplomas, and published research papers in 5 sets to the University Office on or before 07 April 2026.
7. Also submit the Small Family Declaration (Form A) as per Maharashtra Government rules.

Separate applications must be submitted for each post. Candidates in service should apply through proper channel and submit NOC at the time of interview.
