Constable (Veterinary) — 34 Posts
- Qualification: 10th Class pass with Science as main subject from a recognised Board.
- Experience: One year experience in treatment of different species of animals in a recognised Veterinary Hospital.

Constable (Driver) — 553 Posts (Male Only)
- Qualification: 10th Class pass from a recognised Board.
- Requirement: Must possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence.
- Age: 18 to 27 years
- Open only for male candidates.
Constable (Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter) — 232 Posts
- Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board.
- Plus one of:
- Two years work experience in the respective trade, OR
- One year certificate course from a recognised ITI/Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the trade, OR
- Two years diploma from a recognised ITI in the trade or similar trade.
- Age: 18 to 23 years
- Must qualify the trade test.
- Multi-skilled candidates will be given preference.
Constable (Carpenter) — 7 Posts
- Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board.
- Plus one of:
- Two years work experience in carpentry trade, OR
- One year certificate course from a recognised ITI/Vocational Institute with at least one year experience, OR
- Two years diploma from a recognised ITI in carpentry or similar trade.
- Age: 18 to 25 years
- Must qualify the trade test.
Constable (Nursing Orderly) — 1 Post
- Qualification: 10th Class pass from a recognised Board.
- Certification: First Aid certificate course from St. John's Ambulance Organisation or Red Cross Society of India.
- Experience: Minimum one year working as a Nursing Orderly in a minimum fifty-bedded hospital recognised by the Central or State Government.
- Age: 18 to 27 years
Nationality: For Constables (Washerman, Barber, Water Carrier, Waiter, Tailor, Gardener, Cobbler) — only Indian citizens. For Constables (Driver, Veterinary, Carpenter, Nursing Orderly) — citizens of India, subjects of Nepal or Bhutan are also eligible (except with prior permission of Central Government for non-Indian citizens).
A candidate can apply for only one post. You must hold all eligibility conditions on the last date of application, i.e., 30 days from Employment News publication.

Salary
- All posts carry Level-3 (Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month) under the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
- You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), Ration Money Allowance, House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances as per Central Government orders.
- Selected candidates will be covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS) or Unified Defined Contributory Pension Scheme (UPS) as applicable for new entrants joining on or after 01 January 2004 or 01 April 2025.

Selection Process
The selection will be done in 4 stages:
- Stage I — Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST): PET and PST will be conducted at SSB locations. You must meet the minimum height and chest requirements and complete the race within the prescribed time. Biometric verification will be done at all stages.
- Stage II — Written Examination (CBT): Computer Based Test of 100 MCQs for 100 marks in 2 hours. Subjects include General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning, and General English/General Hindi. Qualifying marks: 50% for UR/EWS/OBC/Ex-Servicemen and 45% for SC/ST. Final merit for all posts will be based on written exam marks only.
- Stage III — Documentation and Skill Test: After written exam, a call list of up to 20 times the vacancies (category-wise) will be prepared. Skill test of 50 marks with 60% qualifying marks. Trade test is qualifying in nature — marks are not added to the merit list.
- Stage IV — Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME): Candidates numbering up to 3 times the vacancies will be called for DME. Conducted as per Revised Medical Guidelines dated 20.05.2015.

- Carry out assigned trade-specific duties (driving, tailoring, carpentry, gardening, barbering, cobbling, washing, cooking, veterinary care, or nursing as per your trade)
- Maintain border security equipment, vehicles, and supplies assigned to your unit
- Patrol designated border areas and support security operations when required
- Follow all SSB rules, standing orders, and operational guidelines at all times
- Assist senior officers in daily camp and field operations
- Keep proper records and logs related to your trade work and materials used
- Participate in physical training, drills, and refresher courses as scheduled
- Report any security concerns or unusual activities observed during duty
