Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) has released Notification No. 02/ANN/EDF funded project/VCRI/NKL/2026 for 2 Project Assistant posts at the Department of Animal Nutrition, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal. The posts are under the Environmental Defense Fund, Inc., New York funded research project "Designing of Region Specific Total Mixed Ration (TMR) for Climate Smart Dairy Production". This is a walk-in interview — no online application needed. The engagement runs for fifteen months.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• Graduate in Veterinary Sciences / Agricultural Sciences / Biology / Chemistry or related disciplines from a recognised university or equivalent

Desired / Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Veterinary Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline
• Research experience in designing and running field trials in dairy or livestock farming
• Experience in community engagement and mobilising farmers for stakeholder meetings, field demonstrations, or outreach programmes
• Exposure to organising and conducting field surveys and sample drawing
• Proficiency in research data management, statistical analysis, and computer skills

Other Requirements

• A valid two-wheeler driving license is mandatory at the time of joining
• A medical fitness certificate must be produced at the time of joining
• If you are already employed, you must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your present employer

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 21 years
• Maximum age: 45 years
• Age relaxation will be given as per rules

Salary

• You will get Rs. 30,000 per month (consolidated)
• No House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be paid
• No TA or DA will be paid for attending the interview — you must make your own travel and lodging arrangements

Selection Process

The selection will be done in this order:

1. Written Test (30 marks, 30 minutes): Multiple choice questions in English. Syllabus covers chemical composition and nutritive value of feedstuffs, toxic factors, biological experiments in dairy cattle, data collection, statistical analysis, and inventory management. You need minimum 50% marks to qualify for the interview.
2. Computer Skills Test (5 marks): Practical evaluation of computer operation skills.
3. Interview: Final evaluation based on educational qualifications (essential and desirable), research and work experience, additional skills, recognitions, and interview performance.

The reporting time at the venue is 9:00 AM. Candidates will not be allowed in after the written test starts.

• Collect data on farmers, animals, and locally available feed ingredients across different places of Tamil Nadu
• Conduct on-farm field trials in dairy cattle
• Perform laboratory analysis of feed and biological samples
• Maintain stocks of animals, feed, equipment, and other research materials
• Analyse data, prepare reports, and present research findings through publications
• Disseminate research findings through workshops and capacity building programmes for stakeholders
• Travel frequently to different districts of Tamil Nadu for fieldwork and surveys
