Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), an autonomous institute under the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, is hiring for its research project on "Optimized salicylamide derivatives and prodrugs for the treatment of influenza infections" under the supervision of Dr. Sweety Samal. Both positions are based at the NCR Biotech Science Cluster in Faridabad, Haryana, and are contractual in nature with extensions subject to satisfactory performance and project tenure.

Who Can Apply?

For Technical Assistant (Community Awareness) — Rs. 50,000/month:

  • Qualification: You need a Graduate degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or Life Sciences from a recognized university.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in community engagement is mandatory.
  • Desirable: Candidates with prior experience in building volunteer databases will be given preference. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also desirable.

For Project Scientist (Pharmacist) — Rs. 75,000/month:

  • Qualification: You need an M.Pharma degree from a recognized university.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in clinical trial pharmacy or hospital pharmacy is required.
  • Registration: You must hold a valid registration certificate from the State Pharmacy Council.
  • Knowledge: You should have knowledge of drug storage and dispensing regulations.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 35 years (as on the date of walk-in interview, i.e., 02 April 2026)
  • Age relaxation for reserved categories:
  • SC/ST candidates: 5 years
  • OBC candidates: 3 years
  • PwBD (UR): 10 years, PwBD (OBC): 13 years, PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
  • Central Government servants: up to 5 years as per government rules

These are consolidated monthly emoluments. Since these are contractual positions under a research project, standard government allowances like DA, HRA, or TA may not apply separately.

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted on the day of the walk-in through the following stages:

Responsibilities

  • Technical Assistant (Community Awareness):
  • Develop frameworks, processes, and outreach strategies for the research unit to engage with the community effectively.
  • Conduct community outreach and awareness activities tailored to the needs of ongoing clinical studies.
  • Coordinate closely with the Study Coordinator to understand requirements for First-in-Man and Controlled Human Infection Model studies.
  • Perform initial phone and digital interviews to screen potential participants before enrolment.
  • Maintain volunteer registries and contact databases with regular follow-up schedules.
  • Organize community meetings and information sessions to build awareness about research studies.
  • Manage the complete "Screening-to-Dosing" pipeline for both research units.
  • Project Scientist (Pharmacist):
  • Handle the preparation of Investigational Products (IP) including extemporaneous preparations as required by clinical trial protocols.
  • Maintain the blinding integrity of research studies throughout the trial duration.
  • Work with the Dose Escalation Committee (DEC) to calculate and prepare dose levels for subsequent study cohorts.
  • Manage investigational product lifecycle — from receipt and storage to dispensing, accountability, and reconciliation.
  • Monitor temperature-controlled storage areas and maintain pharmacy logs as per regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and label investigational products following protocol specifications and GCP guidelines.
  • Coordinate with study sponsors for drug supply management and support laboratory sample processing activities.

Minimum Qualification

Graduate degree (Social Sciences/Public Health/Life Sciences) or M.Pharma from a recognized university

Preferred Qualification

Experience in building volunteer databases (for Technical Assistant); Valid State Pharmacy Council registration (for Project Scientist)
