Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has published Advertisement No. 03-Exam/2026 for the recruitment of 58 Trained Teacher posts (JTC Grade) in special schools across Uttar Pradesh. These posts are spread across 7 different types of special schools — covering hearing impaired, visually impaired, physically disabled, and mentally challenged categories. Who Can Apply?
Common Requirements for All Posts:
- PET-2025 Scorecard: You must have appeared in UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 and hold a valid scorecard. Candidates with an Absolute score of zero or negative in PET-2025 are not eligible.
- Domicile: You must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
For Post 01 — Hearing Impaired & Deaf Schools:
- Intermediate from UP Board or equivalent examination
- Diploma in Special Education (Hearing Impairment) from an RCI-recognised institution
- Knowledge of reading and writing in Hindi/English Sign Language
- Registration with Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) as a Special Education Teacher
For Post 02 — Visually Impaired Schools (Craft/Music):
- Intermediate with Music as a subject, or equivalent diploma in Music
- Diploma in Special Education (Visual Impairment) from an RCI-recognised institution
- Knowledge of reading and writing in Braille (Hindi/English)
- Registration with RCI as a Special Education Teacher
For Post 03 — Touch-based Visually Impaired Schools:
- Intermediate from UP Board or equivalent
- Diploma in Special Education (Visual Impairment) from an RCI-recognised institution
- Knowledge of reading and writing in Braille
- Registration with RCI as a Special Education Teacher
For Post 04 — Physically Disabled Schools:
- Intermediate from UP Board or equivalent
- Diploma in Special Education (Locomotor Disability/Cerebral Palsy) from an RCI-recognised institution
- Registration with RCI as a Special Education Teacher
For Post 05 — Physically & Mentally Challenged State Schools:
- Intermediate from UP Board or equivalent
- Diploma in Special Education (Locomotor Disability/Cerebral Palsy Stream) from an RCI-recognised institution
- Registration with RCI as a Special Education Teacher
For Post 06 — Mentally Challenged Schools:
- Intermediate from UP Board or equivalent
- Diploma in Special Education (Mental Retardation/Intellectual Disability) from an RCI-recognised institution
- Registration with RCI as a Special Education Teacher
For Post 07 — Visually Impaired Special Selection:
- Intermediate from UP Board or equivalent
- Diploma in Special Education (Visual Impairment) from an RCI-recognised institution
- Knowledge of reading and writing in Braille
- Registration with RCI as a Special Education Teacher
Preferred Qualification (gives preference in direct recruitment):
- Minimum 2 years of service in the Territorial Army, OR
- National Cadet Corps (NCC) 'B' Certificate holder
Age Limit
- You must be at least 21 years old and not more than 40 years old.
- Age calculated as on: 1 July of the calendar year in which vacancies are advertised (i.e., 01 July 2026).
- Age Relaxation: SC, ST, OBC and other reserved categories of UP will get upper age relaxation as per UP Government rules applicable from time to time.
- In-service candidates: Employees of the UP State Government get a 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit.
Salary
- All posts carry Pay Level-6 under the 7th Pay Commission.
- Entry pay: Rs. 35,400 per month
- Maximum pay: Rs. 1,12,400 per month
- You will also receive DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules.

- Freedom Fighters' dependants, Ex-Servicemen, Women, PwD, and Outstanding Sportspersons will pay the fee as per their parent reservation category (Sr. No. 1-4).

- Note: The exam fee for the Main Written Exam will be charged separately, only to shortlisted candidates.
Selection Process
Selection will happen in 2 stages:
- Shortlisting via PET-2025 Score: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their UPSSSC PET-2025 Normalised Score. Up to 15 times the advertised vacancies per category (including candidates with scores up to 2 positions from the cutoff) will be called for the written exam.
- Main Written Examination: A single question paper with 100 objective MCQs carrying 100 marks. You will get 2 hours (120 minutes) to complete it. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks (1/4th) for each wrong answer.
- Skill Test (Qualifying): For posts requiring knowledge of Sign Language or Braille Script, shortlisted candidates must pass a Sign Language Proficiency Test or Braille Script Competency Test. This is a qualifying examination — not added to the merit. For posts where Sign Language or Braille is not required, selection is based solely on the written exam.

Responsibilities
- Teach students with specific disabilities using specialised pedagogy and curriculum adapted for their needs
- Prepare individualised education plans (IEPs) for each student based on their disability type and learning ability
- Assist students in developing communication skills through sign language, Braille, or other assistive methods
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through regular assessments and maintain detailed records
- Work closely with parents and guardians to support each child's educational and developmental goals
- Follow the guidelines set by the Directorate of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for special education
- Participate in school activities, parent-teacher meetings, and training programmes as required

Exam Pattern
The Main Written Exam will have a single question paper with 100 objective (MCQ) questions carrying 100 marks. You will get 2 hours (120 minutes) to complete it.
Subject-wise Breakdown
- Part 1 — Subject Knowledge (65 questions, 65 marks):
- Introduction to Disability: 25 questions (25 marks)
- Child Development and Learning: 20 questions (20 marks)
- Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016: 20 questions (20 marks)
- Part 2 — Computer & IT Knowledge: 15 questions (15 marks) — Covers computer basics, internet, MS Word, MS Excel, operating systems, digital tools, AI, and cyber security
- Part 3 — Uttar Pradesh General Knowledge: 20 questions (20 marks) — History, culture, geography, economy, polity, and current affairs of UP
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks (1/4th of the question's marks) will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Exam Type: Objective (Multiple Choice Questions)
Qualifying Skill Test: For posts requiring Sign Language or Braille Script knowledge, a separate qualifying skill test will be conducted after the written exam. This includes Sign Language Conversion Test (Text to Sign and Sign to Text) and Braille Script Proficiency Test (Text to Braille and Braille to Text).
