WAPCOS Limited (Water and Power Consultancy Services), an ISO 9001:2015 Mini Ratna-I Central PSU under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, has released advertisement number WAP/EXPT/TPI-RDSS/2026-27/01 dated 11.05.2026 for 159 expert positions. These engagements are on project term basis for work relating to the various projects under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). Project locations include Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Nagaland. Engineers with 2 to 15 years of power sector experience can apply.

Who Can Apply?

Assistant Project Manager (3 posts)

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 15 years in power Distribution Sector

Team Leader (9 posts)

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 8 years in power Distribution Sector

Smart Metering Expert (5 posts)

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / IT / MCA
• Experience: Over 9 years in power sector with experience in DDUGJY/R-APDRP/IPDS/Smart Metering projects, AMI/AMU based metering, and system metering

Material Quality Expert (1 post)

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
• Experience: Over 9 years in power sector with experience in Quality Inspection under DDUGJY/R-APDRP/IPDS/Saubhagya/Rural Electrification schemes

SCADA Expert (2 posts)

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation / Computer Science / IT
• Experience: Over 10 years in power sector with project and contract management experience

Cloud Infrastructure Expert (1 post)

• Qualification: Degree in Engineering / IT / Computer Applications from a recognised university
• Experience: Over 6 years in IT hardware deployment, cloud hosting, security audits, and cyber security solutions

Cyber Security Expert (1 post)

• Qualification: Degree in Engineering / IT / Computer Applications from a recognised university
• Experience: Over 6 years in security audits, VAPT, and cyber security policy implementation

Field Engineer (46 posts)

• Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Experience: 3 years (Degree) or 6 years (Diploma) in power sector quality inspection

Field Supervisor (91 posts)

• Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation / Computer Science / IT
• Experience: 2 years (Degree) or 4 years (Diploma) in power sector quality inspection

Age Limit

• Age and experience shall be counted as on 30 April 2026.
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per Government of India rules.
• No specific minimum or maximum age is mentioned — experience requirements act as the eligibility filter.

Salary

• Salary shall be commensurate with qualification and experience and will be discussed at the time of interview.
• The exact pay package is not pre-fixed and depends on your profile.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

1. CV Shortlisting: Applications are screened against the qualification and experience criteria.

Management reserves the right to fix the criteria to restrict the number of candidates if found suitable.

• Handle technical implementation and project management work under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS)
• Carry out quality inspection of power distribution infrastructure at project sites
• Support smart metering rollout including AMI/AMU based metering and consumer/DT/feeder metering
• Manage SCADA systems, design and implement cloud infrastructure, and oversee cyber security policies
• Prepare technical reports, energy accounting records, and project status updates
• Coordinate with state DISCOMs and field teams across multiple project states
• Conduct security audits, risk mitigation reviews, and VAPT for IT systems where applicable
• Travel to project locations in Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Nagaland as required
