The Office of the Divisional Forest Officer (Nodal Officer, North & Middle Andaman District) has invited online applications to fill up 196 Group 'C' Industrial posts of Mazdoor across five forest divisions in the North & Middle Andaman District. These positions fall under Pay Matrix Level-1 (Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900). The nature of these vacancies is temporary but likely to continue, with a probation period of 2 years. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed your Secondary School Examination (Class 10th / X Std.) from a recognized Board or Institution.
• Physical Fitness: You must have a good physique and should be able to qualify in the Physical Endurance Test.
• Nationality: You must be an Indian Citizen.
• Employment Exchange: All candidates must apply online, whether registered with the Employment Exchange or not.

Desirable: Knowledge of Hindi is preferred.

Age Limit

• Male candidates: 18 to 33 years
• Female candidates: 18 to 38 years
• Age will be calculated as on the closing date of application, i.e., 06 May 2026.

Age Relaxation:

• ST candidates: 5 years relaxation (Male: up to 38 years, Female: up to 43 years)
• OBC candidates: 3 years relaxation (Male: up to 36 years, Female: up to 41 years)
• Central Govt. Civilian Employees: Up to 40 years of age (45 years for ST candidates) — must have 3+ years continuous service
• Meritorious Sportspersons: Up to 5 years relaxation (10 years for ST candidates)
• DRM and contract employees including SSCT: Up to 40 years as per A&N Administration Circular No. 45/1998-PW dated 19.11.2011

Salary

• Pay Matrix Level-1: Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900 per month
• In addition to basic pay, you will receive Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and other allowances as applicable to Central Government employees posted in A&N Islands.

Physical Test Details

The selection is based on a three-level Physical Endurance Test. You will not get a second chance if you fail any test. Here are the details:

Level-I: Running Test (Shortlisting)

• Male candidates: Must complete a distance of 10 km within a fixed time
• Female candidates: Must complete a distance of 8 km within a fixed time
• Up to 15 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted from this round

Level-II: Long Jump (Qualifying)

• Male (General & OBC): 12 feet
• Male (ST): 9 feet
• Female (General & OBC): 9 feet
• Female (ST): 7 feet
• You get 3 attempts to clear the required distance

Level-III: Weight Carrying Test (Final Selection)

• Male candidates: Carry 30 kg weight over a distance of 500 meters
• Female candidates: Carry 20 kg weight over a distance of 500 meters
• A merit list will be prepared based on the time taken to complete this test

• Women candidates (all categories): Exempted (no fee)
• ST candidates: Exempted (no fee)

• Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances

Selection Process

1. Physical Endurance Test (3 Levels): Running (Level-I for shortlisting), Long Jump (Level-II qualifying), and Weight Carrying (Level-III for final merit). No second chance will be given.
2. Document Verification: Original certificates and testimonials will be verified in person at the prescribed venue.
3. Character and Antecedents Verification: Police verification of character and antecedents.
4. Medical Examination: A medical fitness test by the appropriate authority.

Final merit list will be prepared based on the Weight Carrying Test (Level-III), with a wait list of up to 10% of notified vacancies.

• Carry out manual forest operations such as timber extraction, log handling, and plantation work in the assigned forest division.
• Assist in loading, unloading, and transportation of forest produce including timber and bamboo.
• Work in forest nurseries and participate in afforestation and reforestation activities.
• Follow safety protocols while performing physically demanding tasks in forest areas.
• Keep the assigned forest areas clean and maintain pathways, fire lines, and boundary markers.
• Assist senior officials in wildlife monitoring, anti-poaching patrols, and forest protection duties as assigned.
• Handle basic forest maintenance tools and equipment under supervision.
