Bharat Electronics Limited, a Navratna Company under the Ministry of Defence, is one of India's top defence electronics manufacturers. Through Advertisement No. 383/HR/FOE/MS/2025-26, BEL has invited applications for 6 Field Operation Engineer (FOE) positions in the Missile Systems SBU. These are temporary contract positions that involve maintenance and operation of critical defence equipment.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

You need a B.E/B.Tech degree in one of these branches from a recognized university:

• Electronics
• Electronics & Communication
• Electronics & Telecommunication
• Telecommunication
• Communication
• Mechanical

Pass class is sufficient for all categories (GEN/OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PwBD).

Experience Required

You must have 7 years of post-qualification industrial experience as on 01.04.2026.

For Electronics candidates: Working knowledge on RF and Microwave, Communication, C4I systems. Testing, troubleshooting, and rectification of RF and Digital systems like RADAR, Control Centre, and C4I systems. Experience in periodic/breakdown maintenance of defence or civil equipment under Warranty/AMC.

For Mechanical candidates: Working knowledge on High Mobility Vehicles (HMV), Prime Movers, Trailers, Air Conditioners, Diesel Generators (DG Sets), etc. Experience in periodic/breakdown maintenance of mechanical/electromechanical defence or civil equipment under Warranty/AMC.

Note: Teaching, academic, research work, banking/financial institution experience, non-profit experience, and internships are NOT counted as relevant experience. Experience before completing B.E/B.Tech also does not count.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years (as on 01.04.2026) for General and EWS candidates
• OBC (NCL): 43 years (3 years relaxation)
• SC/ST: 45 years (5 years relaxation)
• PwBD: 10 years additional relaxation (on top of category relaxation)
• Maximum age with all relaxations: 50 years

Salary

• 1st Year: Rs. 60,000 per month (all-inclusive consolidated)
• 2nd Year: Rs. 65,000 per month
• 3rd Year: Rs. 70,000 per month
• 4th Year (if extended): Rs. 75,000 per month
• Additional allowance: Rs. 20,000 per year towards medical insurance premium, attire allowance, stitching charges, and footwear allowance

You will need to get a Medical Insurance cover of Rs. 2 lakhs/year and a Life Cover Insurance of Rs. 10 lakhs/year at the time of joining.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 450 + 18% GST = Rs. 531
• SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: No fee (exempted)

Pay through SBI Collect (online). The fee is non-refundable. Make sure you use the same mobile number and email ID in SBI Collect as in your application form. Enter the SBI Collect reference number in the application form and attach the receipt.

Selection Process

1. Written Test - Carries 85% weightage. Shortlisted candidates will be called for the written test. Venue will be announced later.
2. Interview - Carries 15% weightage. Only candidates who pass the written test will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:5 (for each category, in order of merit).

Call letters for written test and interview will be sent by email only. Final results will be published on the BEL website.

• Handle rectification of critical faults in defence electronic or mechanical systems and coordinate with customers, BEL specialists, designers, and OEM vendors
• Manage periodic and breakdown maintenance of RADAR, Control Centre, and C4I systems (Electronics) or HMV, Prime Movers, ACs, and DG Sets (Mechanical)
• Work on testing, troubleshooting, and repair of RF, Digital, and Microwave systems under Warranty/AMC terms
• Follow Warranty and Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) terms and conditions for all maintenance activities
• Assist in improving the maintenance and operational efficiency of defence and civil equipment
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of all maintenance and fault rectification activities
• Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements as needed
• Work at field locations across India including Shillong, Delhi, and Gandhinagar and travel as required
