CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT), Bhubaneswar is a premier national institute under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) that conducts multidisciplinary R&D for sustainable development of mineral and material resources. Who Can Apply?

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 25 years old as on 21 April 2026 (the last date of application).
  • You must have been born between 22 April 2001 and 21 April 2008 (both dates inclusive).
  • Age Relaxation:
  • ST candidates: 5 years relaxation
  • PwBD (40% or more disability): 10 years relaxation
  • PwBD (ST): 15 years relaxation
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of actual military service from age
  • Widows/Divorced Women (not remarried): Up to 35 years of age
  • Widows/Divorced Women (ST, not remarried): Up to 40 years of age

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900 per month under Level-1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
  • You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA) as per Central Government rules applicable to CSIR.
  • Additional benefits include New Pension Scheme (NPS), medical reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Conveyance Advance, and House Building Advance.
  • CSIR employees are also eligible for accommodation under CSIR Residence Allotment Rules (HRA is not admissible if accommodation is provided).

Selection Process

The selection will be done through the following stages:

  1. Written Examination (OMR or Computer-Based): An objective-type multiple-choice exam of Class X standard with 150 questions for 450 marks in 2 hours. Questions will be set in English, Hindi, and Odia (except the English Language section). There is negative marking of 1 mark for every wrong answer.
  2. Skill Test / Preliminary Test / Trade Test: CSIR-IMMT may conduct additional tests to shortlist candidates based on institutional requirements.
  3. Document Verification: You will need to produce all original documents and certificates at this stage.

The mode of selection will be as per CSIR guidelines and the decision of the competent authority shall be final.

Responsibilities

  • Handle office maintenance tasks including opening and closing of sections and departments
  • Receive, distribute, and dispatch Dak (mail), diaries, and official correspondence
  • Maintain physical records, files, and registers across General Administration, Finance, Accounts, Stores, and Purchase sections
  • Keep the institute premises clean and assist with general upkeep of furniture, equipment, and laboratory areas
  • Manage inventory tasks including receiving materials, stock entry, and maintenance of stores records
  • Assist with guest house hospitality duties such as attending to visitors, managing check-in and check-out, and serving refreshments
  • Perform watch and ward duties, attend shift duty, and handle locking and unlocking of labs and offices
  • Carry out photocopying, deliver documents between sections, maintain vouchers, log books, and manage vehicle requisitions

Exam Pattern
