UIDAI Director (Technology) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

UIDAI is the statutory authority responsible for issuing Aadhaar numbers to residents of India. It works under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and was established under the Aadhaar Act, 2016. This vacancy is for a senior-level technology leadership role at the UIDAI Head Office, dealing with large-scale IT systems, data centre operations, and technology procurement for the world's largest biometric identity programme.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Requirement: Four-year degree in Engineering or Technology, OR Master's degree in Computer Application (MCA) from a government-recognised institute
• Service Requirement: Only officers who have completed at least 5 years of government service can apply

Experience Requirement (Any One)

• Option 1: Central Government officers holding analogous posts (at Level 13) on regular basis in the parent cadre/department
• Option 2: Officers with 3 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 12 (Rs. 78,800 - 2,09,200) or above
• Option 3: Officers from State/UT Government, PSU, or Autonomous Organisation holding regular posts in corresponding grades with the required experience

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in monitoring and implementing large-scale projects with multiple ecosystem partners
• Experience in handling IT/Telecom/Networking/Data Centre operations
• Experience in IT procurement and IT inventory management

• Maximum Age: Below 56 years as on the closing date of application (13 May 2026)

Salary

• Pay Level: Level 13 of the 7th Central Pay Commission
• Basic Pay Range: Rs. 1,23,100 - Rs. 2,15,900 per month
• Allowances: As per UIDAI (Salary, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Employees) Regulations, 2020. This includes Dearness Allowance, HRA, and other standard Central Government allowances
• Facilities: Vehicle facility for commuting (available to Director-level officers), medical benefits under CGHS or UIDAI Medical Reimbursement Scheme, and access to Aadhaar Housing Complex at DDU Marg, New Delhi for residential accommodation

• Handle technology strategy, planning, and implementation for UIDAI's Aadhaar ecosystem and related IT infrastructure
• Monitor and manage large-scale IT/Telecom projects involving multiple ecosystem partners and vendors
• Manage data centre operations, networking infrastructure, and technology uptime for Aadhaar services
• Prepare technology procurement plans, evaluate IT tenders, and manage IT inventory across UIDAI offices
• Work with internal teams and external agencies to ensure smooth delivery of Aadhaar enrolment and authentication services
• Follow all government IT security protocols and ensure compliance with data protection guidelines
• Assist senior leadership in formulating technology policies and upgradation roadmaps for UIDAI systems
