CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) Project Associate-II Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO), based in Dona Paula, Goa, has announced recruitment for 3 Project Associate-II positions under Advertisement No. GAP3293/3149-26. These are project-based positions at the NIO Headquarters in Goa, initially for a period of 1 month (extendable based on project requirements). This is a great opportunity for postgraduates and engineers with a background in ocean engineering, coastal processes, or physical oceanography who want to work on cutting-edge marine research projects.

Who Can Apply?

You need one of the following qualifications to be eligible:

Route 1 - M.Tech / M.E Holders:

• M.Tech / M.E in Ocean Engineering, Marine Structures, Coastal Management, Marine Engineering and Management, Dredging and Harbour Engineering, Coastal and Harbour Engineering, or an equivalent discipline

Route 2 - M.Sc Holders:

• M.Sc in Physical Oceanography with a minimum of 2 years of research or industrial experience in the relevant field after completing your M.Sc

Route 3 - B.E / B.Tech Holders:

• B.E / B.Tech (Civil) with a minimum of 2 years of research or industrial experience in the relevant field after completing your degree

Desirable: Knowledge in computer programming, physical ocean processes, numerical or physical modelling, and project work or publications related to coastal processes, fluid mechanics, and hydraulics.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years (as per CSIR norms for Project Associate-II)
• Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates as per Government of India rules

Salary

• Selected candidates will receive a consolidated stipend of Rs. 28,000 per month
• This follows the standard CSIR stipend structure for Project Associate-II positions (without NET/GATE)
• HRA as applicable at the place of posting may be provided as per CSIR norms
