Who Can Apply?

1. Resource Person

  • Option A: Class XII plus 3 years of experience in TV/Doordarshan programme production and coordination
  • Option B: Graduation with a professional Diploma in TV Programme Production, Mass Communication, or Journalism
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Assamese, English, and Hindi; ability to write scripts, notes, and event reports

2. Video Assistant

  • Essential: Professional Degree or Diploma in Videography
  • Desirable: 2 years of experience in TV, digital, or video programme work

3. Post-Production Assistant (Video Editing)

  • Essential: Professional Degree or Diploma in Video Editing
  • Desirable: 2 years of experience in TV/Doordarshan/Video programme production

4. Website Editor / Social Media

  • Essential: Graduation plus a Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Digital Marketing or Social Media, along with 1 year of experience in website designing, digital marketing, or social media
  • Desirable: Certification in Website Designing

5. Camera Assistant

  • Essential: Class XII pass
  • Desirable: 2-3 years of experience in the related field

6. CG Operator

  • Essential: Graduation with typing speed of at least 35 WPM in English and/or 30 WPM in Hindi/Assamese
  • Desirable: Certificate in Computer Graphics or Graphic Designing

7. Library Assistant / Archive Assistant

  • Essential: Graduation with Certification in MS Excel
  • Desirable: Diploma in Library Science

Age Limit

  • You should be between 21 and 50 years old as on 01 January 2026 (applies to all categories).
  • Age, experience, and education criteria are evaluated as on the date of issuance of this notification.

Remuneration

  • This is not a salaried position. You will be paid a per-assignment remuneration based on your category.
  • Highest: Rs. 5,000 per assignment (Video Assistant)
  • Lowest: Rs. 1,500 per assignment (Camera Assistant)
  • You can be assigned a maximum of 7 assignments per month.
  • That means your monthly earnings can range from approximately Rs. 10,500 to Rs. 35,000 depending on your category and assignments.
  • The remuneration follows Prasar Bharati's prevailing fee structure for casual assignees.

Application Fee

  • There is no application fee for any of the casual assignee categories. You can apply free of cost.

Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting: DDK Guwahati will shortlist candidates based on their age, education, experience, and other relevant criteria. Not everyone who applies will be called forward.
  2. Skill Test / Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for a skill test or interview. DDK Guwahati may conduct any type of assessment, including written exams (MCQ or descriptive), group discussions, one-on-one interviews, or software proficiency tests (such as editing software).

Note: No TA/DA will be paid to candidates called for skill tests or interviews.

Responsibilities

  • Handle programme production tasks including scripting, coordination, and on-ground event management for DD Assam broadcasts.
  • Operate studio and field cameras for recording TV content, covering events, and supporting live broadcasts as required.
  • Work on non-linear video editing software to produce finished broadcast-ready segments for the regional channel.
  • Manage website content updates, design digital creatives, and handle the social media presence of DDK Guwahati on various platforms.
  • Assist senior camera operators during studio shoots, outdoor recordings, and live event coverage.
  • Prepare computer graphics, lower thirds, title cards, and on-screen text elements for news bulletins and programme segments.
  • Maintain the video library and archive, catalogue recorded content, and retrieve archival footage when needed for programme production.
