Prasar Bharati's Doordarshan Kendra Guwahati is inviting applications for empanelment of Casual Assignees across 7 categories to work on DD Assam, the regional channel covering Assam and the North-East. Doordarshan Kendra Guwahati, operating under Prasar Bharati (India's Public Service Broadcaster), has published a notification on 24 March 2026 for building a fresh panel of Casual Assignees for its regional broadcast operations at DD Assam. The empanelment covers seven distinct technical and creative roles required for television programme production and news broadcasting. Who Can Apply?

The educational qualifications differ for each category. Here is what you need for each role:

Resource Person

  • Option 1: Class XII (10+2) with at least 3 years of experience in TV/Doordarshan programme production and coordination
  • Option 2: Graduation with a professional Diploma in TV Programme Production, Mass Communication, or Journalism
  • Option 3: Graduation with a professional Degree or Diploma in a specific relevant field
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Assamese, English, and Hindi; ability to write scripts and report on events

Video Assistant

  • Essential: Professional Degree or Diploma in Videography from a recognized institution
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in videography

Post-Production Assistant (Video Editing)

  • Essential: 10+2 from a recognized Board with Degree or Diploma in Film and Video Editing from a recognized university
  • Experience: 2 years of experience in the relevant field

Website Editor / Social Media

  • Essential: Graduation with knowledge of social media management and website content handling
  • Desirable: Experience with content management systems and digital media platforms

Camera Assistant

  • Essential: Class XII (10+2) pass
  • Desirable: 2-3 years of experience in camera work or programme production related field

CG Operator

  • Essential: Graduation with typing ability of at least 35 WPM in English and/or 30 WPM in Hindi or Assamese
  • Desirable: Knowledge of computer graphics software used in television broadcasting

Library / Archive Assistant

  • Essential: Graduation with certification in MS Excel
  • Desirable: Experience in library management or media archiving

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Maximum age: 50 years
  • Age is counted as on the date of notification, i.e., 24 March 2026

Remuneration

  • This is an assignment-based engagement, not a regular salaried post
  • Remuneration ranges from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 5,000 per assignment depending on the category
  • Maximum 7 assignments per month can be allotted as per Prasar Bharati norms
  • Duties are given on an "as and when required" basis -- mere empanelment does not guarantee regular work
  • Resource Person: Rs. 3,000 per assignment
  • Video Assistant: Rs. 5,000 per assignment
  • Camera Assistant: Rs. 1,500 per assignment
  • No TA/DA will be paid for interview, audition, or skill tests

Selection Process

DDK Guwahati will follow a multi-stage selection process to build the empanelment panel:

  1. Application Scrutiny: All received applications will be checked for completeness and eligibility. Applications without proper self-attested documents and photocopies will be rejected outright.
  2. Shortlisting: Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on educational qualification, technical skills, and relevant experience.
  3. Skill Test / Interview: Shortlisted candidates may be called for a practical skill test and/or interview to assess their competency for the specific category they applied for.
  4. Panel Constitution: Successful candidates will be placed on the empanelment panel, which remains valid for 2 years.

Important: Empanelment does not confer any right to a permanent or regular job. Engagements will be made purely on a casual, assignment basis.

  2. Fill in the application form completely with your personal details, educational qualifications, professional skills, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work on social media content creation and website updates for DD Assam's digital platforms when assigned
  • Follow all editorial guidelines and technical standards set by Prasar Bharati for broadcast content
  • Maintain library archives and properly catalogue broadcast material for future reference
  • Assist senior staff during outdoor programme recordings, live events, and news coverage across Assam
