Who Can Apply?

Domicile Requirement

You must be a permanent resident of East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya. This is a strict requirement as per Memo No.PER (AR)111/2022/70-A.

For Assistant Enforcement Inspector & Enforcement Checker

  • Qualification: HSSLC passed or SSLC passed (or equivalent exam declared by a University/Board recognised by the Government of Meghalaya)
  • Must have completed a DTP (Desktop Publishing) Course in Computer

For Mandal, Record Keeper, Copyist & Manual Assistant

  • Qualification: SSLC passed (or equivalent exam declared by a University/Board recognised by the Government of Meghalaya)

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum age: 32 years
  • Age is calculated as on 1st January 2026
  • SC/ST relaxation: 5 years over the upper age limit (up to 37 years)
  • PwD relaxation: As per Government Office Memorandum No.PER(AR)150/88/560 dated 18th January 2023
  • No age bar for regular government employees already in service (within prescribed limits), but a No Objection Certificate (NOC) is needed at the time of interview

Salary

  • Level 5 (Asst. Enforcement Inspector): Basic pay starting at Rs. 24,656 per month
  • Level 4 (Enforcement Checker): Basic pay starting at Rs. 22,244 per month
  • Level 3 (Mandal, Record Keeper): Basic pay starting at Rs. 20,636 per month
  • Level 2 (Copyist, Manual Assistant): Basic pay starting at Rs. 19,028 per month
  • Allowances: House Rent Allowance, Hill Compensatory Allowance, Medical Allowance, Winter Allowance, and other applicable allowances as per Meghalaya government rules

Selection Process

  1. Local Language Paper (Qualifying): A paper on Knowledge of Local Language (Khasi Language in East Khasi Hills District) will be held first. You must clear this paper to move to the next stage. Marks from this paper do not carry over — it is purely qualifying in nature.
  2. Written Examination: Only candidates who pass the Local Language Paper will be called for the written exam.
  3. Physical Efficiency Test: All applicants will appear for the Physical Efficiency Test as part of the process.
  4. Document Scrutiny/Verification: Verification of relevant documents will happen after clearing the screening test or written examination.

Minimum Qualification
