ICAR-NBPGR Young Professional-I & Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 — 2 Posts

ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), New Delhi, has invited applications for 2 temporary positions under the project titled "Establishment and Management of the Field Gene Bank (FGB) for Maintenance of Registered Plant Varieties", funded by PPV&FRA. The project runs from 2026 to 2028 under the supervision of Dr. K.P. Mohapatra. Selection is through screening and online interview — no written exam required. This is a good chance for fresh agriculture and horticulture graduates looking for hands-on research experience with India's premier plant genetic resources institute.

Who Can Apply?

For Young Professional-I (Rs 30,000/month):

• Essential Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Agricultural and allied Sciences, Horticulture, Forestry, or Agroforestry from a recognized university.
• Desirable: Experience in characterization and field evaluation of tree germplasm.

For Field Assistant (Rs 25,000/month):

• Essential Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in handling field experiments in agricultural sciences or field evaluation of germplasm.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 45 years old.
• Age relaxation: Available for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• Young Professional-I: Rs 30,000 per month (consolidated pay)
• Field Assistant: Rs 25,000 per month (consolidated pay)
• No HRA is admissible for either post.
• Emoluments depend on performance and availability of project funds.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done in 2 stages:

1. Screening of Applications: Applications received by email will be screened for eligibility. Only eligible candidates will be shortlisted.
2. Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an online interview. Intimation will be sent via email and phone.

No TA/DA or accommodation will be provided for attending the interview.
