IIM Calcutta Executive Engineer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), one of India's oldest and most prestigious management institutions established in 1961 in Kolkata, has released a notification for 1 Executive Engineer (Regular) post in its Engineering Division. This is an Unreserved (UR) category post filled through direct recruitment on a permanent basis. The Executive Engineer will head the Engineering Division and oversee all civil and electrical infrastructure projects on campus. Experienced civil engineers familiar with CPWD/PWD procedures will find this an excellent opportunity to work at a world-class academic campus.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Experience: You must have at least 15 years of professional experience as a Senior Executive in civil construction, maintenance works including electrical works in Government, Semi-Government, or reputed industrial organizations.
• Preferred: Candidates who know CPWD/PWD procedures and government tendering and purchase procedures will be given preference.
• Channel: If you are working in a Government, Semi-Government, PSU, or Autonomous Body, you must apply through proper channel and submit a certificate confirming no vigilance or disciplinary case is pending against you.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 45 years as on the last date of applications (09 April 2026).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST and OBC candidates get age relaxation as per Government of India norms.

Salary

• Pay Level-11 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix: Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month (Pre-Revised PB-3 with Grade Pay Rs. 6,600).
• Total minimum monthly salary including allowances: approximately Rs. 1,38,652 per month.
• You will also receive DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, and LTC as per Institute rules.
• Medical benefits: OPD treatment coverage up to Rs. 32,500 per year for self and dependents, plus Mediclaim insurance up to Rs. 4 Lacs per year for hospitalization.
• Additional benefits include mobile reimbursement and other allowances as per Institute rules.

• SC / ST / Female: No fee (exempted)

Selection Process

Selection will be done through:

1. Test and/or Interview: The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates called for test or interview based on qualifications and experience. Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria alone does not guarantee a call for interview.
2. Document Verification: You will need to submit original certificates and documents at the time of joining.

• Lead the Engineering Division as its Head and manage both frontend and backend development teams for campus infrastructure
• Oversee all civil and electrical renovation, restoration, and special repair projects across the campus
• Serve as Convener of the Tender Committee at the Engineering Division and ensure transparent procurement processes
• Coordinate with CPWD (the Institute's Project Management Consultant) for infrastructure expansion projects
• Manage all civil and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) related maintenance work on campus
• Participate in key Institute committees including Purchase Committee, Buildings and Works Committee, Project Monitoring Committee, and Annual Convocation Committee
• Conduct regular meetings with contractors to review progress and resolve issues on ongoing construction projects
• Handle liaison work with government bodies and oversee the execution of campus expansion projects
