IIT Bhilai is recruiting 32 non-teaching staff across administrative and technical roles, and this is a solid opportunity if you are looking to work at one of India's premier technology institutes.   • Group B posts (Level 6) offer a starting pay of Rs. 35,400 per month plus DA, HRA, and TA as per Central Government norms -- your in-hand salary will be significantly higher than the basic
  • Group C posts (Level 3) start at Rs. 21,700 per month with all Central Government allowances and benefits
  • 24 out of 32 vacancies are for Junior Technical Assistants across Computer Science, Chemistry/Physics, Mechanical/Material Engineering, and Electrical/Electronics -- freshers with a B.Tech/B.Sc or even a 3-year Diploma are eligible

The selection process involves a written test followed by a skill test or trade test (where applicable), and finally an interview.   • OBC-NCL certificate valid on the closing date of application (must meet Creamy Layer exclusion criteria as per Central Government norms)
  • PwD certificate from a competent medical authority (if applicable)
  • NOC from current employer (mandatory for candidates already in Central/State Govt/PSU/Autonomous Bodies)
  • Any document in a language other than Hindi or English must be accompanied by a Gazetted Officer or Notary attested translation

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative, technical, or specialized duties as assigned to the respective post at IIT Bhilai campus
  • Handle day-to-day operations in the assigned department -- administration, counselling, sports, fire safety, IT systems, or engineering maintenance
  • Maintain documentation, records, and reports as required by the institute
  • Coordinate with faculty, students, and other staff for smooth functioning of institute activities
  • Assist in infrastructure development, maintenance, and campus operations (for technical posts)
  • Support the institute in conducting examinations, events, and other academic activities

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

3-year Diploma / Bachelor's Degree / Master's Degree in relevant discipline (varies by post)

Preferred Qualification

Experience in IITs/NITs/CFTIs/CUs or similar Government Organizations. Computer knowledge including MS Word and PowerPoint.

Required Skills

Communication skills in English and Hindi, basic computer knowledge (MS Word, PowerPoint)

Exam Pattern

The selection process for IIT Bhilai Non-Teaching Posts follows a multi-stage approach:
