Who Can Apply?

You can apply if you meet any one of these qualification options:

• Option 1: M.D. or M.S. in an appropriate branch of Medicine
• Option 2: M.B.B.S. with Postgraduate Diploma in an appropriate branch of Medicine plus at least 1 year experience in a recognised hospital
• Option 3: M.B.B.S. including completion of compulsory rotatory internship followed by at least 2 years experience in a recognised hospital

Desirable Qualifications

• Specialisation in Medicine, Chest Diseases, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, or Family Medicine
• Work experience in a medical college or large Government or private hospital

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years as on the last date of application (4 June 2026)
• Age Relaxation: OBC-NCL candidates get 3 years relaxation, SC candidates get 5 years relaxation as per Government of India rules

Salary

• Consolidated pay: Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per month
• The pay is consolidated, so no separate DA, HRA, or other allowances are paid
• Selected candidates have no claim to regular employment or to privileges like housing or medical facility available to regular IIT employees

Selection Process

Selection is based on shortlisting and interview. There is no written exam.

1. Shortlisting: If there are a large number of applicants, IIT Jodhpur may shortlist candidates using suitable criteria
2. Document Verification: Done before the selection process
3. Interview: Final selection based on interview performance

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the selection process.

• Provide medical care and consultation to IIT Jodhpur students, faculty, and staff at the institute health centre
• Diagnose and treat common illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies on campus
• Conduct health check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive health programmes for the campus community
• Refer patients to specialists or hospitals when advanced treatment is needed
• Maintain medical records, prescriptions, and patient histories as per institute protocols
• Coordinate with hospitals empanelled by IIT Jodhpur for specialist care and admissions
• Support institute health and safety programmes including mental wellness initiatives
• Work in shifts including emergency duty as assigned by the institute
