NHSRC is hiring a Lead Consultant for its Knowledge Management Division (KMD) in New Delhi. If you have MBBS/BDS with a Postgraduate degree in Community Medicine, MPH, MHA, or Healthcare Management and at least 10 years of post-PG experience in public health systems, you can apply online. National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) Lead Consultant KMD Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
The National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) has invited online applications for the post of Lead Consultant in the Knowledge Management Division (KMD). NHSRC was set up in 2006 under the National Health Mission (NHM) as an autonomous registered society. It works under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and provides technical assistance to states for strengthening the public health system. This is a contractual position initially valid till 31 March 2028, with possible extensions based on performance. The position reports to the Advisor, KMD.
Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualification
- You must have an MBBS or BDS degree.
- You must also have a Postgraduate Degree in Community Medicine, Master's in Public Health (MPH), Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Management, or MHA (full-time, two-year course only).
- All graduate and postgraduate degrees and diplomas must be obtained in regular mode only. Distance or correspondence courses are not accepted.
Experience Required
- You need at least 10 years of post-qualification (post-PG) experience in Public Health Systems.
- The experience must include implementation and supporting large-scale national health care programmes.
- You should have experience in one or more of the following areas: Qualitative research, Quantitative research, Systematic Reviews, Documentation, or Data analysis.
Skills Required
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong oral and written communication in English
- Working knowledge of data analysis and statistical software
- Deep understanding of public health issues in India
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 55 years as on the last date of application.
- There is no minimum age specified.
Salary
- Monthly remuneration: Rs. 1,30,000 to Rs. 1,70,000 per month.
- The exact fee within this band will be decided based on your qualifications and experience.

Selection Process
Selection will be based on:
- Screening of Applications: Shortlisting based on qualifications and experience.
- Written Test (if conducted): If a written test is held, a 1:5 ratio will be applied. For 1 vacancy, the top 5 candidates will be considered. Candidates with equal marks at the cut-off will also be included.
- Interview: Final selection is through interview by the NHSRC selection committee.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance for research activities under the Knowledge Management Division (KMD)
- Support states in designing and planning research proposals to strengthen health systems
- Lead preparation of technical documents, policy briefs, and reports on Health Systems interventions
- Review and analyse published and grey literature including National, State, and District level surveys, HMIS, SDG indicators, and Universal Health Coverage indicators
- Coordinate with partner institutions for research collaborations including the IR-HSS platform
- Ensure timely and high-quality responses to MoHFW and Parliament Questions related to the division
- Undertake analytical documentation of field review visits and prepare programme-specific analytical reports
- Identify and document best practices and innovations from states and districts

MBBS/BDS with Postgraduate Degree in Community Medicine / Master's in Public Health / Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Management / MHA (full-time two-year course only). All degrees must be in regular mode.
