IIT Palakkad Junior Technician & Junior Technical Superintendent Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (IIT Palakkad), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, has announced recruitment for 2 non-academic posts through direct recruitment. This notification (Advt. No. IITPKD/R/NF/02/2026) covers one Group C post in the Innovation Lab and one Group B post in the Systems division. Both posts are unreserved (UR) and carry a one-year probation period. Who Can Apply?

For Junior Technician (Innovation Lab) - Post Code 26201:

• Option 1: B.E. / B.Tech / Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university
• Option 2: Post SSLC with 2-year ITI with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA, plus 2 years of relevant experience
• Maximum age: 27 years as on 13 April 2026

For Junior Technical Superintendent (Systems) - Post Code 26202:

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / M.Sc in CSE / ECE / IT / Software Sciences, or MCA (or equivalent degree) with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA
• Experience: 2 years of relevant experience after qualifying degree
• Maximum age: 35 years as on 13 April 2026

All qualifications must be from a recognized university or institution. Only experience gained after the minimum qualifying degree will be counted.

Age Limit

• Junior Technician (Innovation Lab): Up to 27 years
• Junior Technical Superintendent (Systems): Up to 35 years
• Age as on: 13 April 2026 (closing date of online application)
• Age Relaxation: SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), PwD, and Ex-Servicemen get relaxation as per Government of India norms
• No age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for Unreserved vacancies

Salary

• Junior Technician (Innovation Lab): Pay Level 3 -- Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month (basic pay)
• Junior Technical Superintendent (Systems): Pay Level 6 -- Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month (basic pay)
• You will also get DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, and other benefits as per Central Government rules
• IIT Palakkad is located in Palakkad, Kerala, which is a Y-class city for HRA purposes

Selection Process

The selection will be done through the following stages:

• Provide technical support to students and staff for projects and coursework
• Follow safety protocols and ensure proper maintenance of all equipment
• Coordinate with vendors for procurement, installation, and servicing of technical equipment
