Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) Authorised Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) is a leading scientific institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, located in Bhat village, Gandhinagar district, Gujarat. IPR operates a Contributory Health Service Scheme (CHSS) for its approximately 3,000 beneficiaries, which includes around 800 employees, 200 project staff, and their dependants. Through this notification (Advt. No. CHSS/01/2026), IPR is looking to appoint one Authorised Medical Officer on a 2-year contract to provide medical consultancy and bill-checking services for CHSS beneficiaries. This is a great opportunity for MBBS doctors who want to work with a prestigious central government research institute in a structured medical role with regular working hours.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have an MBBS degree from a recognized university.
• Registration: You need a valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or Medical Council of India (MCI). You should also hold a valid medical practice certificate.
• Experience: You must have at least 2 years of experience working as a Consultant doctor at a recognized hospital or clinic. A certificate of experience is required.
• Preferred: Knowledge of CGHS/CHSS/Medical Attendance Rules of the Central Government will be an added advantage.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 55 years for the post of AMO-IPR.

Salary and Compensation

• Consultation Charges: Rs. 180 per patient for each fresh consultation and Rs. 120 per patient for follow-up visits within 3 days for the same ailment.
• Fixed Monthly Payment: Rs. 10,000 per month as a lump sum for checking and passing medical bills.
• Other Charges: Additional payments for dressing, suturing, injections, and similar procedures as per the CHSS Schedule of Rates (SoR).

Note: The compensation is on a per-consultation basis plus a fixed monthly component. There is no fixed salary in the traditional government pay scale structure for this contract position.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in up to 2 stages:

1. Shortlisting (if needed): If the number of eligible candidates is large, the top 10 candidates will be shortlisted based on their percentage of marks in the Final Year MBBS examination.
2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview at IPR, Gandhinagar.

Contract Terms

• The initial contract is for 2 years.
• If your performance is satisfactory and there is a continued requirement, the contract can be extended by 1 more year on the same terms.
• Either party can terminate the contract with 1 month's notice.
• You will work 6 days a week: Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (including 1-hour break), and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
• Every Tuesday, you will visit the FCIPT campus at GIDC Sector-25, Gandhinagar for consultations. IPR shuttle transport will be available.
• You are expected to provide telephonic assistance during off days, holidays, and odd hours in case of emergencies.

• Provide medical consultancy services to IPR CHSS beneficiaries, including prescribing medicines and treatments.
• Refer patients to specialist doctors, hospitals, and diagnostic laboratories as needed.
• Handle telephonic consultations and provide emergency medical advice during off-hours, holidays, and weekends.
• Check and approve medical bills and reimbursement claims as per the CHSS Schedule of Rates.
• Visit the FCIPT campus every Tuesday to provide on-site medical consultation for staff posted there.
• Assist the institute administration with guidance on medical policies, health-related issues, and CHSS matters.
• Maintain proper records of consultations, referrals, and bill approvals.
