Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has issued Vacancy Notice No. DE/P/05/2026 dated 07 May 2026 inviting applications on deputation basis for 7 Senior Section Engineer/Mechanical positions at the Valdapudi (Visakhapatnam) Workshop (VDPD). The normal term of deputation is 3 years, extendable up to 5 years. KRCL has been permitted exemption from the rule of immediate absorption up to 31/12/2026. Applications must be forwarded by the Railway Board at least 07 days prior to the last date.

Who Can Apply?

• Eligibility: Officers working in Zonal Railways, Production Units, Railway PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, and other Organisations
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a supervisor in Indian Railways or PSUs
• Pay Level: Working in PML-7 or PML-6 (7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 7 or Level 6)
• Preference: Candidates with experience in Repair Workshops or Manufacturing Units will be given preference
• Forwarding Authority: Applications of Zonal Railways/PU officers must be forwarded by the Railway Board with the approval of the Competent Authority in the Ministry. Applications not forwarded by Railway Board will not be considered.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: Below 57 years as on 01 May 2026

Salary

• Pay Scale: 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-7 or Level-6
• The officer will draw pay and allowances as per DOPT instructions, which would have been admissible on the Railways
• Plus deputation (duty) allowance as per applicable rules
• Retention of Railway accommodation during deputation tenure as per Railway Board's policy

Selection Process

1. Screening of Applications: Eligible suitable applicants will be short-listed on the basis of eligibility and experience as per the Vacancy Notice.
2. Selection Criteria: As mentioned in Ministry of Railway, Railway Board's letter No. 2017/E(O)II/41/5 dated 25.05.2017 and No. 2018/E(O)II/41/1 dated 07.03.2018.

• Ensure completion of POH (Periodical Overhauling) and NPOH of wagons with quality and efficiency at the Valdapudi (Visakhapatnam) Workshop
• Plan day-to-day deployment of materials, manpower, and other resources to achieve the desired outturn
• Supervise wagon repair and corrosion repair operations
• Maintain quality standards in repair and overhauling activities
• Coordinate with Workshop teams for timely completion of work targets
• Prepare reports on workshop output and resource utilisation
• Monitor safety and operational efficiency at the workshop
