The Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA), working on behalf of the Planning Department, Government of Meghalaya, has invited online applications for 5 District Research Fellow positions on contractual basis. The selected fellows will be posted across five districts of Meghalaya — East Jaintia Hills, East Khasi Hills, South Garo Hills, South West Khasi Hills, and West Garo Hills. Selection is done through a written/technical test followed by a personal interview held in Shillong.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• You must have a Bachelor's degree in any of the following fields: Social Sciences, Humanities, Public Policy, Statistics, Data Analytics & Geoinformation, Natural Sciences, or any other interdisciplinary degree.
• You must have relevant social sector experience.

Experience

• You should have 3 years of experience working with state, central, or CSR-funded programs (implementation side).
• Experience in research writing will be preferred.

Essential Skills

• Good written and verbal communication
• Computer knowledge — MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years
• No specific minimum age mentioned in the notification

Salary

• You will get a fixed monthly emolument of Rs. 50,000 per month.
• This is a consolidated salary for the contract duration.

Contract Duration: The initial contract is for 1 year. It may be renewed based on your performance and the continuation of the project.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Written / Technical Test: Covers Subject Matter Knowledge, General Knowledge, Reasoning, English, and Computer Knowledge.
2. Personal Interview: Held only at Shillong.

Note: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test or interview. MBMA may also conduct an additional skill test if required. If you are already employed, you must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) when called for the interview.

• Coordinate with district administration, block officials, and community stakeholders
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data using statistical and data analytics tools
• Monitor program outcomes and document best practices for replication
• Assist the Planning Department in evidence-based decision-making for basin development
