National Institute of Immunology (NII) Public Relations Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

BRIC-National Institute of Immunology (NII), an autonomous research institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, has announced a vacancy for 1 Public Relations Officer (PRO) at its campus in New Delhi. This recruitment is being done on Short Term Contract or Deputation basis, under Advertisement No. NII/01/2026. The institute is located on Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, next to Jawaharlal Nehru University, and is one of India's premier immunology research centres.

Who Can Apply?

For Short Term Contract:

• Qualification: You need a Master's degree in any discipline, preferably in Science, from a recognised university.
• Language Skills: You must have a strong command of the English language with demonstrated ability in science writing and reporting.
• Other Skills: Proficiency in liaison work, negotiations, and coordination is required.
• Preference: Candidates with a Science background (Master's in Science) and professional certificate courses will be given preference.
• Eligibility: Experienced persons from the private sector can apply under this mode.

For Deputation:

• Qualification: You should hold an analogous post in terms of pay scale and status in a central/state government body, university, research institution, autonomous body, or PSU.
• OR: You should have worked for at least 5 years in Level 10 (Grade Pay Rs. 5,400 as per 6th CPC) as a Public Relations Officer or equivalent, with a Master's Degree preferably in Science.
• Documents: You must submit your application through proper channel with ACR/APAR dossier of the last 5 years, Vigilance Clearance, Integrity Certificate, and Employer's Certificate.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 56 years as on 14 April 2026 (closing date of applications).
• This age limit applies to both deputation and short term contract candidates.

Salary

• The post is in Level 11 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (PB-3, Grade Pay Rs. 6,600 as per 6th CPC).
• Basic pay ranges from Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.
• For contract appointments, the terms will be as per NII norms.

• General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 500 (non-refundable, for Short Term Contract applicants only).
• Women / SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: No fee (exempted as per Government of India rules).

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following stage:

1. Interview: Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview in Delhi only. In case of a tie, the older candidate will be placed higher, followed by alphabetical order of names.
2. Document Verification: You need to carry a valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport) to appear in the interview.

• Draft the Annual Report and coordinate with scientists for Scientific Advisory Committee Reports and Project Documents
• Handle communication of scientific research to internal and external stakeholders
• Manage regular interaction with the Nodal Ministry (Department of Biotechnology) on science communication matters
• Handle public relations and liaison with industries for technology transfer and product/process development
• Prepare and disseminate information through public and social media channels
• Assist in organising international and national symposia, seminars, and conferences
• Coordinate with faculty, administration, and external bodies for various institutional activities
• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the Director from time to time
