Who Can Apply?

Lower Division Clerk (Post Code 1020/2026)

• A pass in H.Sc. (12th Class) or equivalent from a recognized Board or University
• A pass in Typewriting Lower Grade examination in English or Tamil or Malayalam or Telugu conducted by Government / Board of Technical Education OR a typing speed of 35 WPM in English or 30 WPM in Tamil/Malayalam/Telugu on Computer

Lower Division Clerk (Post Code 1024/2026)

• A pass in H.Sc. (10+2 pattern) or its equivalent from a recognized Board or University
• A pass in Typewriting Lower Grade examination in English or Tamil or Malayalam or Telugu conducted by Government / Board of Technical Education

Junior Laboratory Assistant (Post Code 1021/2026)

• A pass in Higher Secondary or its equivalent with Physics or Chemistry as one of the subjects

Library Clerk (Post Code 1022/2026)

• A pass in H.Sc. (12th Class) or its equivalent from a recognized Board or University
• A Certificate in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized University Institution

Important: You must be a native or resident of the Union Territory of Puducherry (continuous residence for at least 5 years before the notification date) to apply for these posts.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years as on 13.04.2026 (the closing date for online application)
• MBC / OBC / EBC / BCM / BT: 3 years relaxation (max 33 years)
• SC / ST: 5 years relaxation (max 35 years)
• PwBD: 10 years relaxation (over and above category relaxation)
• Ex-Servicemen: Period of military service plus 3 years

Salary

• Pay Level: Level-2 in the Pay Matrix (Group-C)
• Basic Pay: Rs. 19,900 per month (starting)
• Maximum Basic Pay: Rs. 63,200 per month (with increments)
• You will also get additional allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance as applicable
• The estimated in-hand salary at the entry level is approximately Rs. 30,000-35,000 per month depending on your posting location

Selection Process

1. Written Competitive Examination — Objective type, two papers (Paper-I and Paper-II)
2. Skill Test / Typing Test — For LDC candidates who do not hold a Typewriting Lower Grade certificate
3. Document Verification — Original certificates verification for shortlisted candidates

Exam Pattern

The written exam consists of two papers, each with 100 objective-type questions carrying 1 mark each. You get 2 hours per paper. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The question paper will be bilingual — English and one regional language (Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam).
