Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI) Gangtok has released notification for 4 Senior Research Fellow (Ayurveda) posts on a contract basis under various CCRAS research projects in Sikkim. Candidates with a B.A.M.S. degree from a recognised university can attend the walk-in interview. The walk-in interview is scheduled for 07 April 2026 at the Conference Hall of the Institute. You will receive a fixed monthly salary of Rs. 42,000 plus HRA.

RARI Gangtok Senior Research Fellow (Ayurveda) Recruitment 2026 - 4 Posts

Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI) Gangtok, operating under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has announced 4 vacancies for Senior Research Fellow (Ayurveda) across three research projects. These positions are based in Tadong, Gangtok, Sikkim and are co-terminus with their respective projects. No application fee is required as this is a direct walk-in interview process. Who Can Apply?

  • Essential Qualification: You must hold a B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree from any recognised university.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
  • Preference will be given to candidates with higher qualifications such as M.D. (Ayurveda) or M.S. (Ayurveda).
  • Previous research experience working on projects funded by Ministry of Ayush, ICMR, CSIR, DST or equivalent organisations will be an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications is preferred.
  • Skills in drafting and editing scientific documents, official papers, and technical reports will be helpful.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 35 years as on 01 January 2026.
  • SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation (up to 40 years).
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 3 years relaxation (up to 38 years).
  • Age relaxation for other categories is as per Central Government rules.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary of Rs. 42,000 per month.
  • You will also get House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per applicable government rules.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

  1. Written Test: A written test will be conducted on the day of the walk-in interview to shortlist candidates.
  2. Interview: Candidates who clear the written test will appear for a personal interview before the selection committee.

The selection committee reserves the right to select or reject any application. The right to postpone or cancel the test and interview is also reserved by the Assistant Director In-Charge, RARI Gangtok.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys and collect data on traditional Ayurvedic practices in tribal and rural communities
  • Assist in planning and executing research projects under THCRP, AMHCP, and AHCs programmes
  • Prepare case reports, research papers, and periodic progress reports for the projects
  • Provide Ayurvedic healthcare services at mobile health camps and Ayurveda Health Centres
  • Maintain proper documentation of clinical observations, patient records, and research findings
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, scientific publications, and presentations
  • Coordinate with local health authorities and community leaders for smooth project implementation

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) from a recognised university

Preferred Qualification

M.D./M.S. (Ayurveda), previous research experience with Ministry of Ayush/ICMR/CSIR/DST funded projects, computer knowledge, scientific drafting and editing skills

Required Skills

Ayurvedic clinical knowledge, research methodology, computer applications, scientific writing and documentation

Exam Pattern

The selection process for RARI Gangtok SRF (Ayurveda) involves two stages conducted on the same day as the walk-in interview:
