RITES Limited Legal Professionals Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts

RITES Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, is hiring legal professionals on a regular basis. RITES is a premier multi-disciplinary consultancy organization working in transport, infrastructure, and related technologies. This is a permanent position with an attractive CTC of up to Rs. 28.46 Lacs per annum for the DGM post. Both freshers with 2 years of experience and seasoned legal professionals with 11 years of experience can apply for the respective posts.

Who Can Apply?

For DGM (Legal) - VC No. RG/05/26:

  • Qualification: Degree in Law from a recognized university (Bar Council recognized). UR/EWS candidates need First Class or minimum 60% marks. SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD need at least 50% marks.
  • Experience: Minimum 11 years of post-qualification work experience in the relevant legal field.
  • For Govt/PSU candidates: Should have worked for at least 2 years in IDA pay scale of Rs. 60,000-1,80,000 (Level 11 of 7th CPC pay matrix).
  • For private sector candidates: Should have annual CTC of at least Rs. 23.71 LPA on the last date of application.

For Assistant Manager (Legal) - VC No. RG/06/26:

  • Qualification: Degree in Law from a recognized university (Bar Council recognized). UR/EWS candidates need First Class or minimum 60% marks. SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD need at least 50% marks.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-qualification work experience in the relevant legal field.

Note: Training, internship, teaching, academic, fellowship, or PhD research experience will not count as work experience.

Age Limit

  • DGM (Legal): Maximum 41 years as on 27 April 2026.
  • Assistant Manager (Legal): Maximum 32 years as on 27 April 2026.
  • SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
  • OBC (NCL): 3 years relaxation
  • PwBD: 10 years relaxation (in addition to category relaxation for SC/ST/OBC)
  • Ex-Servicemen: Number of years of service rendered + 3 years
  • J&K Domicile: 5 years relaxation
  • RITES employees: 5 years relaxation over the upper age limit

Salary

  • DGM (Legal): Pay scale of Rs. 70,000 - Rs. 2,00,000 per month (IDA scale). Approximate CTC is Rs. 28.46 Lacs per annum.
  • Assistant Manager (Legal): Pay scale of Rs. 40,000 - Rs. 1,40,000 per month (IDA scale). Approximate CTC is Rs. 16.01 Lacs per annum.
  • You will also get DA, HRA, Performance Related Pay, Medical facilities, Group Insurance, Leave Encashment, and other allowances.
  • Benefits include contribution to PF, Gratuity as per Gratuity Act, and Post Retirement Medical Scheme.

Application Fee

  • General / OBC Candidates: Rs. 600 plus applicable taxes
  • EWS / SC / ST / PwD Candidates: Rs. 300 plus applicable taxes

Selection Process

For Assistant Manager (Legal) - RG/06/26:

  1. Written Test: 125 objective-type questions, 1 mark each, for a total of 125 marks. Duration is 2.5 hours (PwBD candidates get 50 minutes extra). No negative marking. Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for UR/EWS, 45% for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD.
  2. Document Scrutiny: Verification of original documents and certificates.
  3. Interview: Candidates called in the ratio of 1:6 to vacancies. Written test carries 60% weightage and interview carries 40% weightage (Technical & Professional proficiency: 30, Personality Communication & Competency: 10).

For DGM (Legal) - RG/05/26:

  1. Document Scrutiny: Verification of original documents and eligibility.
  2. Interview (100% weightage): Technical & Professional proficiency carries 65% and Personality Communication & Competency carries 35%.

Minimum qualifying marks in interview: 60% for UR/EWS, 50% for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD. Selection can be conducted in Hindi or English. Appointment is subject to medical fitness.

Responsibilities

  • Handle legal cases, arbitration matters, and litigation proceedings on behalf of RITES Limited
  • Prepare and review contracts, agreements, and legal documents for infrastructure and consultancy projects
  • Provide legal opinions and advisory support to various departments and project teams
  • Manage disputes related to contract execution, vendor claims, and regulatory compliance
  • Represent the organization before courts, tribunals, and arbitration panels
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting the company's operations
  • Coordinate with external lawyers and legal firms engaged by the organization

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Degree in Law from a recognized university (Bar Council recognized)

Preferred Qualification

First Class degree or minimum 60% marks for UR/EWS candidates

Written Test (Assistant Manager - RG/06/26)

You will face 125 objective-type questions carrying 1 mark each for a total of 125 marks. You will get 2.5 hours to complete the test. PwBD candidates get an extra 50 minutes.

Negative Marking: No negative marking. No marks deducted for wrong answers.

Exam Language: Hindi or English
