TPSC Assistant Tourist Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) has released Advertisement No. 01/2026 for filling up 1 temporary post of Assistant Tourist Officer (Group-B, Non-Gazetted) in the Tourism Department of Tripura. This vacancy is reserved for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. If you hold a tourism-related degree and have a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura, this is your chance to work in one of the most scenic states of Northeast India.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree in Travel, Tourism Management, or Tourism Administration from a recognized university.
• Domicile: You must have a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRTC) of Tripura at the time of applying.
• Category: This vacancy is reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates only.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is preferred.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 40 years old as on 18 April 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for ST/SC candidates, Persons with Disabilities, and Government servant candidates.
• Government employees in ST/SC/PwD category will not get this relaxation over and above the general 5-year relaxation already available to them.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get pay under Level 11 of the Tripura State Pay Matrix (2018 revision).
• Pay Band: PB-3, Rs. 10,230 to Rs. 34,800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4,400.
• Basic pay starts from Rs. 18,930 per month at entry level.
• You will also get DA, HRA, Medical Allowance, and other allowances as per Tripura Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Written Examination (MCQ Based): Total 170 marks, duration 3 hours. The paper is divided into Part I (English, GK and Current Affairs - 20 marks) and Part II (Tourism subjects - 150 marks). All questions are objective type (MCQ). Based on performance, up to 5 candidates will be shortlisted for the interview for 1 vacancy.
2. Interview / Personality Test: Carries 30 marks. Your intellectual ability, awareness of current affairs, critical thinking, leadership qualities, and moral integrity will be assessed.

Final selection will be based on combined merit of written exam and interview marks (total 200 marks). If two candidates score equal marks, the one who is older in age will be placed higher in the merit list.

2. Complete your One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) if you are a new user. You will receive a User ID on your registered mobile number and email.
3. Log in with your OTPR User ID.
4. Fill in the online application form for Advt. No. 01/2026 (Assistant Tourist Officer).
5. Pay the application fee of Rs. 350 (General) or Rs. 250 (ST/SC/BPL/PH) online.
6. Submit the application before 18 April 2026, 5:30 PM.
7. Take a printout of your submitted application for future reference.

• Assist in organizing and participating in tourism fairs, festivals, and MICE events
• Support destination development projects and tourism infrastructure initiatives across Tripura
• Prepare bid documents, tenders, and official reports related to tourism schemes
• Work towards improving productivity and quality of tourism services at the state level
