TRAI Advisor (Financial & Economic Analysis) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is a statutory body established under the TRAI Act, 1997 to regulate telecommunications and broadcasting services in India. The authority is now looking to fill the post of Advisor in its Financial & Economic Analysis division at TRAI HQ, New Delhi. This is a deputation post on foreign service terms, initially for three years (or till superannuation, whichever comes first). Senior government officers from Central and State governments, PSUs, autonomous bodies, and recognised universities with the right experience can apply.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• Education: You need a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institute.
• Experience: You must have at least 15 years of experience in telecommunications, industry, finance, accountancy, law, management, or consumer affairs.

Desirable Qualification

• Graduation or Post Graduation in Economics or Statistics
• Working knowledge of Econometric modeling, use of statistical tools for economic regulations, regulatory cost analysis and tariff issues

Eligibility by Service Level

You must be an officer from Central Government, State Government, UT administration, autonomous body, statutory organisation, PSU, recognised university, or research institution, and meet one of these criteria:

1. Holding an analogous post (equivalent to Level 14) on regular basis in your parent cadre or department
2. With 4 years of service in Level 13 (Rs. 1,23,100 - 2,15,900) on regular basis in your parent cadre
3. With 17 years of Group A service, having held a post in Level 12 (Rs. 78,800 - 2,09,200) on regular basis for at least 7 years

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 58 years on the last date of submission of applications (04 April 2026)
• No age relaxation has been mentioned in this notification.

Salary

• Pay Level 14 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix: Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month (basic pay)
• Plus Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other allowances as per Government of India rules
• Approximate gross monthly salary (including DA at 53%): Rs. 2,20,000 to Rs. 3,30,000

Selection Process

Selection will be based on review of applications and credentials:

1. Screening of Applications: Your application, service record, ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years, and vigilance/disciplinary clearance will be examined
2. Interview / Assessment: Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview or assessment by TRAI
3. Document Verification: Original certificates and service records will be verified before final selection

4. Get the printed application duly attested by your department.
