UIDAI Assistant Section Officer Recruitment 2026

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is the statutory authority responsible for issuing Aadhaar numbers to residents of India. Established under the Aadhaar Act, 2016, UIDAI operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. This vacancy circular invites serving government officers to join UIDAI's Head Office in New Delhi on deputation. This is a deputation post open to Central and State Government officers, PSU employees, and autonomous body staff — private candidates are not eligible. The deputation period is five years (minimum three years).

Who Can Apply?

Central Government Officers:

  • Officers holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department
  • Or officers with 3 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 5 (Rs 29,200 - Rs 92,300)

  • Or officers with 7 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 3 (Rs 21,700 - Rs 69,100)

State Government / PSU / Autonomous Body Officers:

  • Officers from State Government, UT Government, Public Sector Undertaking, or Autonomous Organisation holding regular post in corresponding grades with the required experience

Note: Only officers who have completed at least five years of government service are eligible. Private candidates cannot apply.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 56 years (as on the closing date of application, i.e., 24 April 2026)
  • No minimum age specified — you must be a serving government officer

Salary

  • Pay Matrix Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission
  • Pay range: Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 per month
  • Plus DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other allowances as per UIDAI regulations
  • Medical facilities under the Central Government Health Scheme or UIDAI Medical Reimbursement Scheme
  • Aadhaar Housing Complex accommodation may be available at DDU Marg, New Delhi

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written examination for this post. Selection is based on:

Responsibilities

  • Handle file processing, noting, drafting, and movement of official correspondence in the assigned section
  • Prepare policy documents, office memorandums, and inter-ministerial communications
  • Assist senior officers in administration, establishment, and human resource matters
  • Manage budgeting, accounts reconciliation, and financial record-keeping tasks
  • Monitor project implementation progress and prepare periodic status reports
  • Coordinate with other divisions, ministries, and external agencies on behalf of the section
  • Maintain official records, registers, and databases in computerised office systems

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Central/State Government officer holding analogous post or with 3-7 years regular service in Pay Level 3-5

Preferred Qualification

Experience in Administration, Legal, Establishment, HR, Finance, Accounts, Budgeting, Vigilance, Procurement, Planning and Policy, Project Implementation, E-Governance

Required Skills

Basic computer skills for working in a computerised office environment
