Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), Lucknow has released Advertisement No. 04-Exam/2026 for the Mains Examination of Sahayak Boring Technician (Assistant Boring Technician) in the Minor Irrigation Department. A total of 402 vacant posts will be filled through this recruitment. Only PET 2025 qualified candidates can apply — shortlisting for the Mains Exam will be done based on PET 2025 normalized scores (at a ratio of 15 times the vacancies). Who Can Apply?

• Education: You must have passed High School (10th Class) from UP Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad or an equivalent recognized Board.
• Technical Qualification (any one of the following):
  • Nalakoop Mechanic (Tubewell Mechanic) certificate from Rajkiya Pravidhik / Audyogik Prashikshan Kendra, Gorakhpur or equivalent institution
  • 2-year ITI certificate in Machinist, Fitter, Wireman, or Turner trades
  • 3-year NCVT NAC in Machine Fitter, Fitter, Wireman, or Turner trades
• PET Requirement: You must have appeared in and received a Score Card for UPSSSC PET 2025. Without a valid PET score, you cannot apply for this post.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 01 July 2026.
• SC / ST: 5 years relaxation in upper age limit
• OBC: 5 years relaxation in upper age limit
• PwBD: 15 years relaxation in upper age limit
• Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as per UP Government rules
• Age relaxation is applicable only for candidates domiciled in Uttar Pradesh, as per state government norms.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month under Pay Level-2 of the 7th Pay Commission.
• You will also receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and other benefits as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules.
• The approximate gross salary at the entry level comes to around Rs. 34,000 - Rs. 37,000 per month depending on your posting location.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. UPSSSC PET 2025 Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Mains Exam based on their normalized PET 2025 scores. Shortlisting will be done at 15 times the number of vacancies per category.
2. Mains Written Examination: 100 MCQ questions for 100 marks in 2 hours. Negative marking of 1/4 mark (0.25) for each wrong answer. The exam covers trade-related knowledge, basic safety, and electrical concepts.
3. Document Verification: Candidates who qualify the Mains Exam will be called for document verification based on their merit.
4. Final Merit List: The final selection will be based on the Mains Exam score and document verification.

5. Enter your educational qualifications and other required details as mentioned in the notification.
6. Read the declaration carefully and submit the application form.
7. Pay the application fee of Rs. 25 through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or SBI e-Challan.
8. After successful payment, download and take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

• Operate and maintain boring machines and tubewell drilling equipment at designated sites
• Assist senior technicians in installing, repairing, and servicing tubewells and hand pumps
• Inspect boring equipment regularly and report any faults or maintenance needs
• Maintain records of boring operations, material usage, and daily work logs
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working with heavy machinery and electrical systems
• Coordinate with field engineers and supervisors on site assignments and progress updates
• Handle basic electrical wiring and fittings related to tubewell pump installations
