Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), also known as Amdavad Municipal Corporation, has released Advertisement No. 35/2025-26 for the recruitment of 1 Project Officer in its Urban Community Development (UCD) department. This is a single unreserved (general category) vacancy that requires both an advanced social work qualification and hands-on grassroots community development experience. Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: You need a Second Class Bachelor's degree in Arts, Commerce, or Law with Sociology as a subject from a recognized university. On top of that, you must hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with relevant specialization.
• Experience: You must have at least 7 years of practical experience working as a Community Organizer. Only experience after obtaining the required degree and qualification will be counted. Offer letters or appointment letters alone will not be accepted — you need experience certificates with details like the organization name, outward number, date, and duration of service (in days, months, and years).
• Domicile: Candidates who are originally from Gujarat and belong to reserved categories (SC, ST, SEBC) will be treated as unreserved candidates for this post since the vacancy is unreserved.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years old as on the date of this advertisement.
• Female Candidates: Women get 5 years of age relaxation as per rules.
• PwBD Candidates: Divyang candidates with 40% or more disability will get age relaxation in the upper age limit as per government rules.
• Reserved Categories: SC, ST, SEBC, and EWS candidates from Gujarat will get age relaxation as per Gujarat Government norms.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary in the range of Rs. 53,100 to Rs. 1,67,800 per month under Pay Matrix Level 9 of the 7th Pay Commission.
• Old pay scale equivalent: PB-2 Rs. 9,300-34,800 with Grade Pay Rs. 5,400.
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Gujarat State Government rules.

• SC / ST / SEBC candidates: Rs. 250/-

Selection Process

The selection will be done based on the following process:

1. Written Exam / Online Exam: AMC may conduct a written or online examination. The Municipal Commissioner's decision on whether to hold a written exam, its format, and the method of shortlisting will be final.
2. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit from the written exam or based on qualifications and experience.
3. Document Verification / Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and interview. You must bring original certificates at this stage.

Note: The Municipal Commissioner's Staff Selection Committee / Municipal Commissioner's decision will be final in all matters related to the selection process.
