APSSB has released notification for 984 Constable, Fireman and Special Tiger Guard posts across multiple departments in Arunachal Pradesh. Candidates who have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) from a recognized board can apply online. Last date to apply is 10 April 2026. Age limit is 18 to 22 years for Constable posts and 18 to 32 years for Fireman and Tiger Guard posts. Salary ranges from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100 per month under Pay Matrix Level-3.

The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB), Itanagar has published Advertisement No. 04/26 dated 13 March 2026 for a Special Recruitment Drive for Uniformed Services Combined Examination 2026. This recruitment covers 7 different post codes across the Police Headquarters (PHQ), Fire and Emergency Services, and Environment & Forest departments. Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India.
Age Limit
- Constable posts (5/26, 6/26, 7/26, 8/26, 9/26): You should be between 18 and 22 years old as on 10 April 2026.
- Fireman and Special Tiger Guard (10/26, 11/26): You should be between 18 and 32 years old as on 10 April 2026.
- APST Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxed by 5 years for candidates belonging to Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe.
- Ex-Servicemen: Those who have served at least 6 months continuous service in the Armed Forces can deduct the period of service from their actual age. If the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit by more than 3 years, they are deemed eligible.
Salary
- All posts carry Pay Matrix Level-3 with a salary range of Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100 per month.
- You will also receive DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Arunachal Pradesh Government rules.

For Male Constable Posts (IRBn, Civil Police Male, Band, Bugler) and Fireman:
- Height (General): 165 cm
- Height (APST - other than Tirap/Changlang/Longding): 160 cm
- Height (APST - Tirap/Changlang/Longding): 152 cm
- Height (APST Ex-Servicemen): 157 cm
- Chest (All categories): 79 cm (Normal) / 84 cm (Expanded)
- Eyesight: Distant vision 6/6 (better eye), 6/12 (worse eye) with correction. No colour blindness.
Physical Efficiency Test (Male - Constable and Fireman):
- 100 metres: 16 seconds
- 1500 metres: 8 minutes
- High Jump: 107 cm (3 attempts)
- Long Jump: 11 feet (3 attempts)
Additional PET for Fireman (Post Code 10/26):
- 100 metres race with 10 kg load: 1 minute
- 1500 metres race: 8 minutes 30 seconds
- Rope/Pipe Climbing: 8 feet from ground
- High Jump: 107 cm (3 attempts)
- Long Jump: 11 feet (3 attempts)
For Female Constable Civil Police (Post Code 8/26):

Selection Process
The selection will be done in 3 stages for Post Codes 5/26 to 10/26, and 2 stages for Post Code 11/26 (Special Tiger Guard):
- Stage I - Written Examination: Objective type MCQs carrying 200 marks with 2 hours duration. You need to score at least 33% marks to qualify. There is no negative marking.
- Stage II - PST/PET and Trade Test: Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, and Trade Test (for Band and Bugler posts). This is qualifying in nature. Shortlisted candidates will be called at a 1:3 ratio of vacancies.
- Stage III - Medical Fitness Test: Applicable for Post Codes 5/26 to 10/26 only. This is also qualifying in nature.
Note: The final merit list is prepared based on merit in the written examination only. PST/PET and Medical Test are qualifying stages.

Responsibilities
- Maintain law and order in the assigned jurisdiction within Arunachal Pradesh
- Patrol designated areas, border zones, and forest regions as assigned
- Respond to emergency situations and assist in disaster relief operations
- Register complaints, prepare daily duty reports, and maintain station records
- Guard vital installations, government buildings, and wildlife sanctuaries
- Assist senior officers during investigations, search operations, and special drives
- Manage crowd control and provide security during public gatherings and events
- Participate in anti-poaching and wildlife protection operations (for Tiger Guard and Forest posts)

Exam Pattern
The written exam will have 100 questions for 200 marks (2 marks per question). You will get 2 hours to complete it. All questions are objective type (MCQ).

- Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: 25 questions (50 marks) — Number Systems, Simplification, Fractions, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Average, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Mensuration
- English Language & Comprehension: 25 questions (50 marks) — Error Spotting, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases, One Word Substitution, Sentence Improvement, Comprehension
Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in this exam.
Qualifying Marks: You need to score at least 33% marks (66 out of 200) to be eligible for the next stage.
Shortlisting for PST/PET: Candidates will be shortlisted at 1:3 ratio of vacancies (subject to securing minimum 33% marks).
Merit Basis: The final selection is based on merit in the written exam only. PST/PET and Medical Test are qualifying in nature.
