Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB), Gandhinagar has released Advertisement No. 03/2026-27 for 500 Gram Sevak (Class-3) posts under direct recruitment. These permanent Panchayat Service positions are spread across 34 district panchayats of Gujarat. Selection is through a competitive written exam (OMR or Computer-Based), followed by document verification. This is a great opportunity for agriculture graduates and diploma holders who want a stable government job in rural Gujarat.

Vacancy Breakdown by Category

• General (OC): 264 posts
• ST (Scheduled Tribe): 101 posts
• SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes): 70 posts
• EWS (Economically Weaker Section): 47 posts
• SC (Scheduled Caste): 18 posts

Additionally, 27 posts are reserved for PwBD candidates (Category A: 9, B: 9, C: 4, D: 5) and 43 posts for Ex-Servicemen (out of the total 500).

Who Can Apply?

• Option A — Degree holders: Bachelor of Rural Studies (excluding Home Science) / B.Sc. Agriculture / B.E. Agricultural Engineering / B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering / B.Sc. Horticulture from any university recognised under the UGC Act, 1956.
• Option B — Diploma holders: Diploma in Agriculture / Horticulture / Agricultural Engineering / Agro-processing, or Polytechnic Diploma in Agriculture Co-operation Banking and Marketing from any recognised Agriculture University in India.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic computer knowledge is required as per Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
• Language: You must have adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
• Domicile: Reserved category benefits (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) are available only to original domiciles of Gujarat in those categories.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 35 years as on 07 May 2026

Age Relaxation:

• General category women: 5 years relaxation (maximum 40 years)
• Reserved category (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) men: 5 years relaxation (maximum 40 years)
• Reserved category women: 10 years relaxation (maximum 40 years)
• General PwD (40%+ disability) men: 10 years relaxation (maximum 45 years)
• General PwD (40%+ disability) women: 15 years relaxation (maximum 45 years)
• Reserved PwD men: 15 years relaxation (maximum 45 years)
• Reserved PwD women: 20 years relaxation (maximum 45 years)
• Ex-Servicemen: 3 additional years above years of defence service (maximum 45 years in any case)

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a fixed salary of Rs. 26,000 per month for the first 5 years of service (as per Gujarat Finance Department resolution dated 18-10-2023).
• After 5 years, candidates are placed on the regular Gujarat government pay scale as per the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix.
• Other allowances and benefits applicable as per prevailing Gujarat government rules after regularisation.

• General (OC) candidates: Rs. 100 + 18% GST (paid via SBI E-Pay online)
• SC / ST / SEBC / EWS candidates: No fee
• Ex-Servicemen (all categories): No fee
• PwBD (all categories): No fee
• Payment mode: Online only via SBI E-Pay (Debit Card, UPI, Internet Banking, NEFT, Credit Card)

If you are unable to pay online by the deadline, you can pay a process fee of Rs. 500 in cash at the GPSSB office between 8 May 2026 and 12 May 2026 (working days only).

Selection Process

Selection is done in 2 stages:

1. Written Competitive Exam (200 marks, 3 hours): MCQ-based exam in OMR or Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) format. Negative marking of -0.25 marks per wrong answer. A Provisional Answer Key is published after the exam; a Final Answer Key is prepared after resolving any objections.
2. Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted from the category-wise merit list are called to verify original documents. Final Selection and Recommendation Lists are published after this stage.

You must carry your admit card (hall ticket) to the exam centre — no entry without it.

How to Apply

1. Go to the OJAS portal at ojas.gujarat.gov.in.
2. Click on "Current Advertisement", then "View All" and select Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB).
3. Click on the advertisement for Gram Sevak (Advt. No. 03/2026-27) and select "Apply".
4. Apply using your OTR (One Time Registration) number, or fill in all details fresh if you are new to OJAS.
5. Fill in your personal, educational, and other details carefully in the application form.
6. Upload your latest photograph (max 15 KB, JPG format) and signature (max 15 KB, JPG format).
7. Pay the application fee online via SBI E-Pay if you belong to the General (OC) category.
8. Click "Confirm Application" to submit and note down your Confirmation Number.
9. Take a printout of the confirmed application for your records.

• Assist gram panchayats with implementation of rural development and welfare schemes
• Maintain village-level records including land records, population registers, and government scheme data
• Coordinate with block-level and district-level officers on central and state government programmes
• Support agricultural activities by providing guidance on crop protection, fertiliser use, and farming practices
• Collect and report data on agricultural production, soil health, and water resources in the assigned panchayat area
• Facilitate delivery of government benefits and schemes to eligible farmers and rural households
• Prepare and submit regular reports on village-level development activities to senior panchayat officers
