About This Job

IIIT Kottayam is hiring 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. IIIT Kottayam Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam (IIIT Kottayam) has released Advertisement No. IIITK/01/12/2026/2206 for one JRF position in a sponsored research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under its Advanced Research Grant (ARG). The project focuses on AI-driven multimodal vision systems for rubber tapping optimization in Kerala plantations. The position is for 36 months, co-terminus with the project duration, and is available for immediate joining.

Selection Process

Selection is based on merit and interview:

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on AI-driven multimodal vision systems using RGB, thermal, and 3D imaging data
  • Develop and implement machine learning and deep learning models for rubber tapping optimization
  • Integrate multimodal sensors and process thermal imaging data for field applications
  • Build and deploy mobile applications for agricultural data collection and analysis
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and research publications related to the project
  • Present research findings to the project team and at academic/industry forums
  • Assist the Principal Investigator in project management, milestone reporting, and funding compliance
