IIIT Kottayam Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam (IIIT Kottayam) has released Advertisement No. IIITK/01/12/2026/2206 for one JRF position in a sponsored research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under its Advanced Research Grant (ARG). The project focuses on AI-driven multimodal vision systems for rubber tapping optimization in Kerala plantations. The position is for 36 months, co-terminus with the project duration, and is available for immediate joining.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• Postgraduate degree in Science or Engineering: M.E., M.Tech, M.Sc., M.S., or MCA in the specialisation of CSE, IT, or ECE
• Minimum 65% marks or 7.0 CGPA out of 10 at PG level

Domain of Expertise (Preferred)

• Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision — strong expertise required
• Multimodal Systems, Sensor Integration, and Thermal Imaging techniques
• Mobile Application Development and Deployment
• Familiarity with Project Management, Technical Documentation, and Reporting

Fellowship / Salary

• Year 1 and Year 2: Rs. 37,000 per month + 10% HRA
• Year 3: Rs. 42,000 per month + 10% HRA
• This is a consolidated fellowship; no additional government allowances apply
• No travelling allowance is provided for attending the interview

Selection Process

Selection is based on merit and interview:

1. Application Screening: All eligible applications are reviewed for academic qualifications and relevant expertise. Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee a call for interview.
2. Shortlisting: A merit-based shortlist is drawn up. Shortlisted candidates are notified via email only.
3. Interview (In-Person or Online): Shortlisted candidates appear before a selection committee with original mark sheets, degree certificates, date of birth proof, identity proof, and self-attested copies of all testimonials.
