About This Job
NIT Kurukshetra is hiring Adjunct Faculty across 15 departments on a rolling advertisement basis. If you are an experienced professional — scientist, engineer, academician, industry expert, or civil servant — with at least 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, you can apply offline. The honorarium goes up to Rs. 1,80,000 per month for Adjunct Professors and up to Rs. 1,20,000 per month for Adjunct Fellows. The last date for the First Round is 15 May 2026.
NIT Kurukshetra Adjunct Faculty Recruitment 2026
National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra (NIT KKR), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has issued Advt. No. 04/2026 for the engagement of Adjunct Faculty in its various departments. This is a rolling advertisement — there is no permanent last date and applications are accepted throughout the year with periodic processing. The First Round deadline is 15 May 2026. Experience Requirements
- General disciplines: Minimum 10 years of experience in the relevant field
- Emerging and cutting-edge technologies: Minimum 5 years of experience may be considered
- You must be an accomplished professional comparable to at least the top one-third of regular faculty in your field
- For industry/research candidates: PG or PhD degree is not mandatory — domain expertise matters most
- For academic candidates: strong research and teaching credentials are expected
General Conditions
- You must be an Indian National
- If currently employed in Government/PSU, you must apply through proper channel and bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the interview
- All degree certificates must be from recognised universities or institutions
- You must be fit and sound in health — a medical examination may be conducted before joining
Honorarium
- Adjunct Professor: Up to Rs. 1,80,000 per month | Rs. 8,000 per day | Rs. 2,000 per hour
- Adjunct Fellow: Up to Rs. 1,20,000 per month | Rs. 6,000 per day | Rs. 1,500 per hour
- The designation (Adjunct Professor or Adjunct Fellow) will be decided based on your qualifications and experience
- These are ceiling amounts — the actual honorarium will be decided by the institute's competent authority
Selection Process
Selection is based on merit and a structured evaluation. There is no written examination.
- Application Screening: Applications are reviewed periodically. Shortlisting criteria may be higher than the minimum advertised. The institute may set a higher bar depending on the department.
- Presentation: Shortlisted candidates have to give a presentation before the Selection Committee. You will need to travel at your own cost to attend.
- Interview: Final selection is based on your performance in the presentation and interview before the Selection Committee.
- Document Verification: All original certificates and documents must be produced at the time of interview.
- Medical Examination: Selected candidates must pass a medical examination by the Institute's Medical Board before joining.

Exam Pattern
