Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2026 for 76 Draftsman (Civil) posts in the Jal Shakti Department under Divisional Cadre. The posts are spread across two divisions — 33 vacancies in Jammu Division and 43 vacancies in Kashmir Division. Selection will be based entirely on a written OMR examination with no interview round. This is a good opening for Diploma holders in Civil Draftsmanship looking for a permanent government position in J&K.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Two-Year Draftsman Training Course Certificate or Diploma from any Government recognized institute.
• Domicile: You must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. A valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority is mandatory.

Age Limit

• Age is calculated as on 01 January 2026.
• Open Merit (OM): Maximum 40 years (born between 01.01.1986 and 01.01.2008)
• SC / ST-1 / ST-2 / RBA / ALC-IB / EWS / OBC: Maximum 43 years (3 years relaxation)
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Maximum 42 years (2 years relaxation)
• Ex-Servicemen: Maximum 48 years (8 years relaxation)

Salary

• Selected candidates will receive a salary of Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month under Pay Level-4 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other benefits as per J&K Government rules.

• Fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted for other exams.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Written Examination (OMR Based): Objective type multiple choice questions set in English language only. There will be negative marking of one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to each question for every wrong answer.
2. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification with original certificates and self-attested photocopies. No TA/DA is paid for attending the DV.

6. Submit the application and save the confirmation page for your records.

Only one application per Item Number is allowed. If multiple applications are submitted for the same Item No., the Board will consider only the latest one.

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings and blueprints using drafting tools and software
• Assist engineers in creating plans for water supply, drainage, and irrigation projects under Jal Shakti Department
• Maintain and update drawing records and tracings for ongoing and completed projects
• Calculate dimensions, areas, and material quantities from engineering drawings
• Inspect field sites and verify measurements against approved drawings
• Follow departmental standards and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) codes for all drafting work
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure drawings match the actual site conditions
