Redhakhol Forest Division Civil Engineer Recruitment 2026
The Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Redhakhol Forest Division under the Forest and Environment Department, Government of Odisha has invited applications for engagement of one Civil Engineer on a purely outsourcing basis. The role involves planning, supervision, and execution of civil infrastructure works across the forest division, covering eco-tourism structures, office buildings, residential quarters, soil and moisture conservation structures, and habitat development works. This is a contract position for 12 months, renewable based on satisfactory performance. Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You need a B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university or institution. A Master's degree (M.Tech) will be given preference.
- Experience: You should have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in civil construction, site supervision, or infrastructure project management. Experience in government infrastructure works, rural infrastructure, watershed works, or eco-tourism projects is preferred.
- Preferred Skills: Knowledge of OPWD Schedule of Rates (SOR), measurement book procedures, and government procurement norms will be an advantage.
- Added Qualification: Strong working knowledge of GIS/Remote Sensing tools for mapping and monitoring infrastructure works will be an added advantage.
- Software Skills: Experience in AutoCAD, MS Office, or similar software is desirable.
Age Limit
- Upper age limit: 35 years as on 01 January 2026.
- Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC / ST / SEBC candidates.
Salary
- You will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 50,000 per month (Fifty thousand rupees only).
- This is a fixed monthly payment with no separate allowances mentioned.
- You will also get 12 days of casual leave per year.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection is based on qualifications, experience, and interview performance:
- Application Screening: Your application will be reviewed based on educational qualifications and relevant experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will appear for a personal interview at the Divisional Forest Office, Redhakhol. Your academic record and work experience will be evaluated, with preference given to candidates who have worked in the Forest Department or similar government infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
- Prepare work estimates for civil structures, watch towers, soil moisture conservation interventions, water bodies, and other forest infrastructure
- Assist in developing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), cost estimates, and project plans for civil infrastructure works
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, consultants, departmental officers, and field staff to ensure smooth project execution
- Oversee construction of forest buildings, eco-tourism facilities, watch towers, staff quarters, check dams, water harvesting structures, forest roads, and culverts
- Carry out field visits to monitor all civil structures and submit inspection reports with technical suggestions
- Verify quality of construction materials and workmanship and conduct mandatory material tests as per IS codes
- Monitor project timelines and track daily site progress, labour deployment, and contractor works
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports and support in planning and prioritising infrastructure works for the division
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognised university
Preferred Qualification
M.Tech in Civil Engineering, GIS/Remote Sensing knowledge, AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency
