Selection Process

The recruitment follows a two-stage selection process. First, you will appear for a Written Test worth 200 marks consisting of 100 MCQ questions to be completed in 2.5 hours. Subjects covered include General English (60 marks), General Knowledge & Current Affairs (40 marks), General Mathematics (40 marks), and Reasoning & Mental Ability (60 marks). There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer. Candidates shortlisted from the written test will then take a Computer Skill Test worth 50 marks covering Windows operations, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Access.

Preparation Tips

  1. Focus on Reasoning & English first — these two sections carry 120 out of 200 marks combined, making them the highest-scoring areas.
  2. Practice negative marking strategy — with 0.50 marks deducted per wrong answer, avoid random guessing. Attempt only questions you are reasonably confident about.
  3. Brush up on computer applications — the Computer Skill Test covers practical tasks in MS Office. Practice file operations, Word formatting, Excel formulas, and PowerPoint presentations.
  4. Revise Odia current affairs — General Knowledge questions often include state-specific topics relevant to Odisha.

  • Handle administrative and clerical tasks in the assigned government institution
  • Maintain official records, files, and correspondence
