The Office of the District Programme Officer (Bal Vikas), Azamgarh under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme has invited online applications for 159 Anganwadi Karyakartri vacancies. Who Can Apply?

• Gender: Only women candidates can apply for these posts.
• Qualification: You must have passed Intermediate (12th Class) or its equivalent from a recognised board.
• Domicile: You must be a permanent resident of the Ward or Gram Sabha where the vacancy exists. If no eligible candidate is found in that category, a permanent resident of the related Nyaya Panchayat area may also apply.

Your caste and residence certificates must be digitally issued from the Tehsil office and must be verifiable online.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 01 January 2026.
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC categories will be as per UP Government rules.

Salary

• Anganwadi Worker is an honorarium-based position. Regular government service rules of UP do not apply to this post.
• You will receive an estimated monthly honorarium of approximately Rs. 6,500 to Rs. 7,000 (combined central and state share).
• Additional performance-linked incentive of Rs. 500 per month may be available as per central government norms.
• The post can be terminated at any time as per the provisions of the Government Order.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There will be no written examination or interview for this recruitment. Selection is based entirely on merit.

1. Merit List Preparation: A merit list will be prepared based on the information you fill in your online application form. Your educational qualifications and other relevant details will determine your rank.
2. Document Verification: The Gram Panchayat or Nagar Nikaya will verify your family register, caste certificate, and residence proof. Age and caste certificates issued digitally from the Tehsil will be verified online.
3. Final Selection: Based on the merit list and successful document verification, candidates will be appointed as Anganwadi Karyakartri.

• Assist health staff during immunisation drives and health check-up camps
• Monitor growth and nutritional status of children by recording weight and height regularly
• Educate women about proper nutrition, hygiene, family planning, and child care practices
• Maintain registers and records of births, deaths, and beneficiaries in the area
• Report cases of severe malnutrition and refer affected children to the nearest health facility
