National Institute of Technology Warangal Research Associate-I Recruitment 2026

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) has invited applications for one Research Associate-I post under a research project sponsored by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). The project is titled "Dual Activated Synthesis of Mesoporous Carbon from Wood Apple Shells Using H3PO4 and KOH for High-Performance Sodium-Ion Battery Electrodes". This is a purely temporary position, and selection happens through an online or offline interview only — there is no written exam.

Who Can Apply?

• UG: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Metallurgy with first class
• PG: M.E./M.Tech in Production Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Additive Manufacturing / Material Science / CIM / CAD-CAM or equivalent with first class
• Doctorate: Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgy is mandatory (allied branches related to the project can also apply)
• Marks: Minimum 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL; minimum 55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of Battery Fundamentals, Carbon Materials and Biomass-Derived Carbon
• Hands-on experience with Electrochemistry and Dual Activation Process
• Familiarity with characterization techniques such as SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, BET, XPS, CV, GCD, EIS and pore size distribution

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 42 years
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC/PH/Female candidates get relaxation as per Government of India norms

Salary

• Consolidated pay: Rs. 58,000 per month
• House Rent Allowance: 16% of basic pay
• The position is for 3 years, purely temporary and terminable if performance is unsatisfactory

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will appear for an online or offline interview at NIT Warangal
